I got Layton to sign these myself when he appeared in Toronto a few months ago. He's a great guy. I had got him to sign some random books throughout the day, and shot the [embarrassing lack of self control] about the books I put in front of him. Later that day....I went back over to his table while he was working on a commissioned sketch. I asked him if he'd mind signing my IM run, and he was more than happy to.

 

He talked all about his time on IM as he flipped through & signed the run. You'll notice that the 131 is signed in silver. That was the 1st book he signed. Not being a big fan of the silver sharpie, I asked if he wouldn't mind using a black one. "No problem" He switched right away & continued through the stack.

 

We talked about cover commissions, and about a month later I Emailed him about getting one done. He got back to me the same day....and I got this in the mail last week.

 

 

To make a long story short....they're dear to me.

Iron Man was the first series I completed (well I did stop at #450) and my favorite hero when I was a kid.

Would love to own one the Iron Man vs Doom pages from #150 someday
