You guys had me excited this morning. As i was inventorying the mass of independants I came across a book titled Gobbledygook #1 by mirage studios.

 

As I had read this thread a while ago the name stood out so I thought the book might be special, but I could not remember why. I looked it up in OS and quickly was able to determine that my # 1 was from 1986 not 1984 and while it was still an early appearance of TMNT it was only worth <$5

yeah, those turn up all the time. I have heard that same thing from alot of people thinking that they found an original only to be saddened to hear the truth. I actually saw the 1986 version on a dealer's board for $200 once. Couldn't tell him cuz he was generally not a nice person, and it made me chuckle too much.
