FF60 manufactured with one staple

I own this copy of FF60 - flat, bright cover, white pages BUT only one staple. How will this affect the grade?

Technically a manufacturing defect, it won't have any effect on the grade. It may have some effect on resale though, as many collectors consider it a stigma along the lines of a mis-wrapped cover or printer's crease. The real impact a one staple book can have on grade is if it's been handled in such a way that the staple is loose or indented, or in some other way gives rise to an ancillary defect - none of which appear to be the case here.

I don't think the missing staple will effect the grade either. I'm tempted to say 9.0, but I have to say 8.5 due to the discoloration (dust shadow?) on the front right cover.

The staple doesn't affect the grade, but discoloration on the RH is a distractor. I'd give it a 9.0 - 9.2
