Personally love the Avengers run from about 150-177 - The Korvac Saga was a great ending. Nice thing is if you want to read it and get it a different outcome you can always read What if 31 I think is the number as well.

 

Starlins Warlock run is good as well though smaller.

The first 30 or so issues of the Legion of Super-Heroes run in Superboy is fantastic too. Starts officially with Superboy 197, but actually began a few issues before that. Great art from Dave Cockrum and Mike Grell.
