Staple indentation

4 posts in this topic

So I bought a Thor 128(advertised VF/NM) last week and just got it. There is virtually no spine stress - the corners are sharp - no creases - very pretty book. One thing though - the staples(which are right on the spine - exactly where they should be)are about 1/8 of an inch indented - it is the weirdest looking thin. The cover is still well attached - but the spine looks so weird with both staples being indented. THat might not be the word for it technically, but I have never seen anything like this before and have no idea how that effects the grade(OS grading guide doesn't really cover this specific situation). Any opinions?

Thanks! I'm not too quick on the up-take lately.

GUess I have a 9.4 book then!

Sweet!

Maybe, maybe not...that Spidey 36 in the previous thread had a very minor indentation and it only occurred at the top staple.
