Yannis
I love the Adventures and its hard for me NOT to pick a DC title. It must be a bias.... the
Silver Surfer
Action #2 wins 10-6. Which one would you choose and why? Very tough GL #1 pro: Key book, great cover con: not scarce Detective #3: pro:Scarce, looks undergraded, Flessel cover pedigree con: not one of his best covers, a lot of money for a non-key. Love to have a GL#1 in that grade but there are so many copies around that I'd go for the Tec #3 because of the rarity and the fact it comes from a pedigree that has some of the oldest books in its collection. Could always pick up another GL#1 later without any difficulty.
Silver Surfer
OK.....I un-quit posting here. Both sold for approx. $18,500 just last month at Heritage. Which one would you choose, and why? For almost $20,000 I would pass on both to be honest. Can't get excited about these books at that price level.
ashrael
Green Lantern #1: first issue, better cover, more significant, I don't really care about pedigrees Mystery Men #1: better cover, more important
Gone Phishin'
The MM #1 takes down Adv. 66 in a blow out!!! Now for 2 books that I would kill for.. Which one would you take and why?? Silver Surfer
Sorry guys MMC#9 because of the condition and its about as cool as Timely's get (not a knock on the Tec of course). I believe this issue was pressed to a 9.0 if I'm not mistaken (does look undergraded)? Two fantastic covers from the early days. I bet you Richard would trade for the MMC#9. rjpb
Both very pretty copies of extremely cool books - but I feel classic cover premium put on the 'Tec these days - makes it overvalued compared to the MM. Both pre-Robin Detectives and Marvel Mystery would be among my "lotto runs".

Gone Phishin'
Id take the MM 9 or the MM 2 over Tec. As much as I LOVE Tec 31, something about those early Timelys make the hair on my arm rise.. MMC 9 or MMC 2, but like Rowdy Rowdy Piper said, Can I have all 3 please??
Silver Surfer
MMC#2 without question, white paged 8.5 copy just too purdy. That cover has grown on me over the years.

showcase4
How about this comparison... or Keeping my disdain for the owner of these "funny books" out of the equation, the Tec 31 completely annihilates that MM2 ( IMO ) for those of you questioning my spelling: an⋅ni⋅hi⋅late /əˈnaɪəˌleɪt/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [uh-nahy-uh-leyt] Show IPA Pronunciation –verb (used with object), -lat⋅ed, -lat⋅ing. 1. to reduce to utter ruin or nonexistence; destroy utterly: The heavy bombing almost annihilated the city. 2. to destroy the collective existence or main body of; wipe out: to annihilate an army. 3. to annul; make void: to annihilate a law. 4. to cancel the effect of; nullify. 5. to defeat completely; vanquish: Our basketball team annihilated the visiting team. Silver Surfer
tec 31 first, MMC 9 and 2 second If the Tec #31 was an 8.0 or 8.5 this would be a tough choice to make for me but Timely's stills sway me even though the Tec #31 is one of my favorite DC's. Okay I'll take all 3.
