Without Tatooz get SSed?

Missing the tattooz makes the book Qualified, so it could not be used for SS. Green trumps yellow.

i read something once about the tatooz not affecting the value of asm #238 because people were taking the tatooz from fantastic four #252 and putting them into this issue? something like that. anyone know what that is about?

That's what OS states. On ebay it's a different story. The ones with Tatooz always go for more.

Even though OS states that the value remains the same, the price difference is huge if the tattooz are still intact..

Given that OS tries not to distinguish them, maybe CGC should do the same. Give both a Universal label and just note 'Tattooz inside' or 'Tattooz missing'. Then they cant both get a SS label

While it may not seem to matter to OS, it sure seems to make a difference to collectors. Changing the policy on the Tattooz would mean revisiting the policy regarding all inserts printed with comics. Valiant coupons, trading card inserts, bound in posters, etc.

 

I'm sorry, but I understand why they wouldn't want to revisit this. It's all or nothing when it comes to calling a book complete or incomplete.
