You know, I'd have no problem calling this 3.5, unless the front cover rumpling is worse in hand than in the scan. The overall wear and BC issues should be no problem in a low VG.

Except for general darkening of the BC, I'd say 4.0...a very solid 3.5...

I'm leaning more 4.0 with this book. I don't see any major tears or pieces missing so I see no reason why this wouldn't slab out as a 4.0

I agree - overall it looks like a VG to me. some color loss at the ULC, a nice grouping of spine stresses, modest sized corner crease LRC and some dirt and discoloration on the back. 3.5 (at worst) - 4.0................
