For those that use Datazap

I received a "Your account has been put on hold" e-mail...apparently Datazap is cleaning up who is paying for their accounts to provide the best service possible and to keep the service in use. Oddly, they indicated that you would not be put on "hold" if you had a valid PayPal account that can be used.

I am a paying customer and have a valid PayPal account...is there anyone in the same boat? I've sent an e-mail to them requesting clarification but if someone here has the sccop I'd appreciate the enlightenment.

Here's the e-mail:

Hi All,

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You are receiving this because you were once or are currently a

subscriber to DataZap's image hosting service. If you do not wish to

receive further mailings like this, log into your account on Datazap,

and from the main menu click on account setup. Then take the check

out of the box where it says notify me, and click on update.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I really didn't want to do this, but because of all the people who

are using datazap for free, it is getting increasingly expensive to

keep datazap on line, because of the constantly increasing amounts

of bandwidth we are using. We now have a system in place that will

not let you use your account unless you have a current paypal

subscription to datazap or have made previous arrangements with us

to be able to log into your account. Because of the amount of space

that it takes to hold all the files that everyone puts on line, I

will be moving the files from accounts that have been put on hold

off the web. I will still be keeping a temporary backup of the

files, just in case they are needed again. If you do not want to

have your files removed from the datazap website, then please log

into your account on datazap and follow the instructions to

reactivate your subscription. If you feel your account being placed

on hold is in error, then please contact me. I will do my best to

resolve the issue with your account quickly and to your satisfaction.

Also, I know that it may have been a while since some of you have

used your account on datazap. Because of all the changes that we have

made to improve our service, I would like to offer anyone who would

like to give us a second chance a 2 week free trial.

Kind Regards,

Al, Jeanie & Kids

It's fixed. FYI:

Hi,

I took a look at your payment info in paypal and you made a payment on

Nov. 11, 2006. Your Datazap account was not credited because you have a

different email on file with paypal than what you have in our database. I

corrected our database and your account is active. Your account should be

automatically updated every month, so you should not have this problem

again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,

Al
