I think that modern CGC'd comics have now reached the same status as modern graded sportscards.

 

I tracked about 20 recent auctions for CGC 9.8 Signature Series books, and a ton of the auctions ended at $3 to $10 with reserve not being met. And these were for nice Wolverine books, Civil War, etc. with cool covers, high grades, and signatures by the creators.

 

I guess the days of getting over guide for modern books is over.
