ASM Print Runs / Scarcity

I recognize that ASM's are pricey, largely because they are highly sought after. However, I am curious about the scarcity of SA Spideys. What were print runs like back during th early 60's? How many copies are out there today?

Below is a survey from Comic Book Marketplace #24, June 1995. It doesn't deal with print runs but "rarity and demand." It was pre-CGC, and I don't know how accurate it is.

I find it hard to believe issue 1 was 7th place below 14, 50, and 2 -4, and 6 in column one: "Demand in any Grade"

However, I am curious about the scarcity of SA Spideys.

It's not often I hear the words "scarcity" and "SA Spideys" used in the same sentence.

I found the ranking interesting too, but I wonder how many copies are out there for example ASM 1. Were print runs 1M plus back in the day?

Not a single issue is scarce. Print runs I think were in the 300-400k range.

There are relatively few high grade copies of certain issues. Numbers 3, 4, 6, 11, 13, 24, 28, 31 and 63 come to mind.

#60, #80 and #86 also, relatively speaking.

Yes, that sounds about right. There was just an article in the Comics Buyer's Guide comparing numbers for ASM 1 against AF15. He had some estimates for print runs that were around yours if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, I tossed that issue.
