Collusion works great as well. :cloud9:

My "Gentlemen's" agreement with jokersrevenge will save us both mega bucks.

Plus, I'm not in a mood to bid up any books I don't really want. (shrug)

Who initiated the agreement?

So Ben, which books are yours in the auction?

Yes it does, unfortunately.

Suppose I list some books in an auction. Then I go into the CGC thread that pretty much matches the books I am selling and start asking all kinds of questions.

I especially want to know what everyone is willing to pay for my books. Now why would I do that? hm

Somehow only bad things come to mind. (tsk)

No matter. If I bid, I will place the amount I am willing to pay as my maximum bid, and if someone (like the seller or his buddies) outbid me, no big deal. ESPECIALLY for the books in these auctions. My tongue hangs out for none of them. :P

I learned a while ago that, with the exception of a handful of 100 pagers, there are plenty more high grade 100 pagers that will come along down the road. They are not nearly as scarce as I once thought. I can wait. :juggle:

And there is also a concern I have with comic websites that have auctions. These sites undoubtedly favor the seller; that is how they get more business. If I put in a max bid and win that book at or near my max bid, how in the frack do I know if there was really a bidder that forced my maximum bid? I don't. :sumo:

Good point.
That's why you don't post what you REALLY want on a comic boards. doh!

That's what registries are for. :baiting:

Also, how does not posting what you really want stop a comic web site from "miraculously" getting max bids for the people who list with them?

I'm not accusing any particular web site, by the way. It just bothers me because I have no way of knowing if it happens or not.....
