The Comics in Canada: An Illustrated History

If you click on #8 you can watch one of Toronto's first comic store from 1970.....and Batman #1 was commading $200!

As an aside concerning that video, I was in contact recently with George Orchelvski (sp?), one of the guy in the video (and reputedly the first collector with a complete Timely collection) and pointed the video to him. He stated that the shots of the store with racks and racks of cool GA books for sale were set-ups. The Captain had asked him to bring some books to the store for when the news crew would come.

Thanks RM for posting that link! thumbsup2.gif I thoroughly enjoyed watching the clips (especially #8). If we want to keep our passion alive, it's important to know its history. Nice to know that the racks were set up prior to the camera crew's arrival- still though, how cool would it be to walk into a store and see those books sitting on the rack? cloud9.gif
