Getting Started in Restoration

Can anyone tell me how I can get started in comic book restoration? I have collected comics for over 24 years now off and on and would like to take my hobby up to the next level. I'm sure there will be a lot of trial and error involved since I have not seen any classes but if someone could point me into the right direction to get started, I would be greatful.

I would give Matt Nelson a PM. His board ID is restoman - he is very knowledgable about the subject and may be able to get you hooked up with some sort of classes.
