It sometimes looks like tiny little dots on the edges of your book. Also likes to hang out along the spine. Its like your comic has a rash. Caused by mosture.

It is basically mold growing on the comic book. It usually shows up as small brown spots.

In case you were wondering, it is not a good thing! grin.gif

Well, I was reasonably sure that it DIDN'T mean "Hunting Foxes"... grin.gif

Prior to the 80s saturation of little blue men (and a girl!) in white pants, better known as the Smurfs, there was an animated feature from a Walt Disney pic that introduced the Foxes. Hanna Barbera ripped them off. The Foxes wore blue pants and had white skin. But instead of talking 'Smurf-English' they talked with 'Fox-English'

Examples:

"What the fox?!?"

"Have a foxy, foxacious day!"

"Man, that Foxette is foxing hot!!!"

"Fox you! You foxing good-fox-nothing -fox!"

"Foxette? Foxed her last night. So have half the foxes around this fox."

Of course this couldn't be. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride aside, Disney wanted nothing to do with anything that implied doing the humpty-hump. So the Foxes were shoved into a foxhole, only to be revived by HB decades later in the form of the Smurfs.

And you thought some dude came up with the concept while tripping on LSD! smirk.gif

Ok, so you have a few comics with foxing on it because of the way they used to be stored. Hi-humidity, along outside concrete walls etc. etc. etc. What happens to the foxing when you take these comics and put them in a proper dry environment. Does the foxing still spread over time? Or, do you have to do something in the way of preservation to prevent the foxing from spreading? I have a few like this and just wondering if I can or should ignore it. From what I can see it's not spreading but maybe it's spreading so slow I am not noticing it.
