alright i just read it again and i guess it makes sence. but i always thought that little guy was a bad guy in superman mythos.

Not the same guy. At some point in the future the original guy's descendants married one of Superman's descendants.

ah, thanks. so did issues 6 tie into the other 5 in any way or is it more of a filler?

they all tie in, but each is also a stand alone story. No filler!

As I understood it, the Superman of the first five issues (who believes that he is dying) appears in disguise in this issue --- he is given a chance to spend time with Pa Kent before Jonathan's death and watches the funeral from the back row. This is why he thinks his future self (the golden Superman seen in DC 1,000,000 and identified in that Morrison series as being the original Superman's final form) who gives him a rose from New Krypton is a descendant.

 

If he thinks he is destined to die, they can't let on that he finds a way out and lives... forever.
