Anyone have a GA/SA Krypto checklist ?

Looking for a GA/SA checklist for Krypto.

Only kidding. Have you tried the Grand Comic Book Database? It's a very good, albeit sometimes incomplete, resource for character appearances. It should at least get you started.

I know there is another site specifically for DC character appearances, but I don't collect DC and never made a note of it. You can try a google search or wait for someone else to come along. I'm sure someone will chime in with the info soon enough.

While I know of no definitive resource to look up Krypto's appearances, I did see an ommision in the last one that is very important...Jimmy Olsen 29...Krypto's first appearance with Superman:

It is very interesting to note that MANY popular additions to the silver age Superman stories actually began in Superboy. Here are a few:

 

red kryptonite

the Phantom Zone

Krypto the Superdog

robots

Bizzaro

 

I think there are a few more I may be forgetting. What's makes these even more interesting is that you get two first appearances...one in a Supeboy story introducing the concept...and then once it has caught on, again in Superman.

 

This next cover will get posted alot around the Silver age forums, for it is my favorite Superman cover of the era and it has just great color and subject. Steelcity has a superb copy he has posted in the 10 cent forums. Superman, Supergirl, Krypto and an exploding earth. I am not sure if it is the first Superman cover with Krypto in it or not. I am not really a "Krypto" collector, but being a Superman collector kinda of puts a lot of Krypto appearances in my collection:

Lastly, one of the CRAZYIEST Krypto stories of all is in Superboy 131 or 136 (don't have my copies scanned at the moment, but you will know it is the issue I am talking about if it has some dog named Tusky something in it....you will know it when you see it ). In it Krypto meets a dog superteam that is actually used by the writers of the Krypto the Superdog cartoon show....fun stuff!

The first appearance of Krypto, in Adventure comics #210, is one of those exotic issues that is rarely seen. Other DC examples might be Action Comics #242, Detective Comics #205 or World's Finest #94 - books that everyone knows of but why are there so few copies around?

I messed up, it was 131. Hey...at least 138 had Krypto on the cover. In fact...it reprinted this issue which introduced Krypto's foe:
