Congrats (thumbs u You know I kid. 20 is one of my favorites and my copy holds a special place in my heart. My dad was always super supportive of my involvement in comics. He tagged along as I went to shows when I was a kid. And he gave me some great advice when I was deciding whether or not to open my first store. He said, "you have always wanted to do this. So do it. What's the worst that could happen? If it doesn't work out you just go get another job." When I opened in 1990 I pulled a bunch of books out of my collection to sell. One of them was a nice Batman 20. Dad saw it for sale and said, "you don't want to sell that, do you?" "Got to, dad. I need the money." So my dad, wonderful guy that he was, said "Well I'll be one of your first sales." And he bought it. And funny enough, he liked it so much he would never sell it back to me, even after I was flush enough to be able to afford it again. Anyway, after dad passed my mom gave me the book back saying he wanted me to have it.

One that I've not heard you tell before in all the years we've known each other. I have a special fondness for this issue as well, but not nearly as solid a reason to love this comic as you do We have both lost our fathers during our time as friends together and the memories of them is just about all we have left. Except you have his Batman #20 and that is plenty cool

My dad used to tell me of the books he read as a kid, Batman, Superman, Captain Marvel, Captain America. He and his mates used to get them from the US soldiers stationed in the UK during and just after the war. They used to use them as currency to get into the cinema, if you gave the dude on the door a book he would let them in for free. Unfortunately he didn't keep any of them for me

Just received a book of a character no one cares about (ok some might care but he aint no batman round here) but he's growing on me and I got it at a price I couldn't pass on.
