  1. I have a number of comics that were slabbed before their collections were recognized as pedigrees by CGC. Examples include Salidas, Cookeviles, and Eldons. I would like get them into pedigree labels. Since they weren't originally labelled with their pedigree designation, can I simply reholder them and designate them as a pedigree to get the pedigree label or do I have to have them regraded? Thanks for your reply. Walter
  2. Wow, now that is a personal connection to a pedigree collection. Glad you stumbled across the thread.
  3. I only have one Denver copy. Thought I would share it here:
  4. Thank you for the explanation. I thought it referred to that smell that you tried to blame on the dog.
  5. Mainly a Golden Age guy, but I have a soft spot for Kurt Busiek's Astro City. Here are two GA pick ups and a piece of OA.
  6. I think my buying for the year is over. Here are some highlights of my acquisitions. Not so much buying this year. Concentrated on two bigger (for me) purchases and then just some things that caught my eye. I've always thought Blackhawk deserved more respect in the hobby. After all, he survived from the Golden Age to the Modern Age without superpowers. I had a Catman #20 that looked nicer than this but lived in a PLOD. I drank the Kool-Aid and bought a Blue that doesn't look as nice. Mixed feelings. A lot of you know that I have a special place in my heart for Cookeville Collection comics. Added some to the pile. This one is a puzzler. What's with the hat? Was Supes afraid of getting sunburned? Another Cookeville with Batman and Robin doing some detective work in Detective Comics. Or checking for rats in the sewer. Didn't NYC just appoint a new rat czar? This may be the first appearance of the Rat Czar. More Cookevilles highlighting unique modes of transportation: Started picking up a few Boy Comics in 2022 and the trend continued into 2023. Seems they kept coming up with new and fun ways to gruesomely kill people. Impaled by a flag stick on the golf course = fun for the whole family and hours of entertainment for the kids! I have got to give some respect to the subway riders on this one. The engineer gets machine gunned up front and the riders calmly remain in their seats and the guy standing and holding the strap quietly reads his newspaper. Just like every day on the NYC subway system. And finally, as a goal, I continue to slowly chip away at completing the Real Life Comics run. I am holding out for higher grade copies (but I'm weak and sometimes stray off the path). Often that means getting a pedigree because this doesn't seem to be a widely collected title. It's kind of what makes the chase fun. If you've got any of these that you think I might be interested in, hit the DM button. Happy holidays, denizens of the boards, and may all your wantlist wishes be filled in 2024!
