Name your top five Golden Age titles???

51 posts in this topic

YOUR top five. That makes it all very subjective. As a GGA/Fiction House collector, I'd have to go with:

Jumbo Comics

Fight Comics

Phantom Lady

Seven Seas

and, um, well...

Batman

Interesting question! Here's my shot:

Action

Detective

Superman

Fantastic Comics

Marvel Mystery

Very honorable mentions: Pep, Batman, Science Comics, Weird Comics, Catman

Action

Detective

Marvel Mystery

Pep

All Star

My list is above, so even though I'm an MLJ collector, these titles I listed have had the most impact over me, directly and indirectly over the span of my comic reading life.

My top five from the Golden Age era are definitely:

1.) More Fun Comics

2.) Detective Comics

3.) Human Torch

4.) Green Lantern

5.) Marvel Mystery Comics

My top five (the ones I most want to collect)...

Blue Bolt Weird Tales

Terrors of the Jungle

Weird Mysteries

Mister Mystery

Weird Tales of the Future

Those last three are the three most in demand pre-code horror titles, without too much argument.

I'd opt for:-

Marvel Mystery Comics

Action Comics

Catman (as hard a run as any to complete)

Superman

Planet Comics

Blue Bolt is no slouch of a title either! tongue.gif Catman and Planet just barely missed my top five.

Should have said "the ones I personally collect". "The ones I most want to collect" makes it sound like I don't have any already, which I do...
