Here's the directions a friendly veteran gave me:

 

Post with attachment.

Click attachment to display scan. Copy url to clipboard.

Edit post - click Image in "Instant UBB Code."

Paste url into dialogue box.

Submit edited post

 

Note: to post with an attachment, select "Preview" before posting, then it gives you the option to attach your file. Then follow the above directions.
