Not sure what order I would put these in, but I think these are all outstanding in their own right:

 

Daring Mystery Comics

Amazing Mystery Funnies

Science Comics (Fox) (nice one, October! thumbsup2.gif)

Superworld Comics (Frank R. Paul comics? can't go wrong)

Amazing Man Comics (goes up to #26, but there are only 22 issues 893applaud-thumb.gif)

 

I love the small runs much more than a long run that grows boring or repetitive ... then again, I'm not a completionist. I'm also a bit fan of the one shots, but I don't think these count as a "run".

Can't argue with that, although Shield-Wizard is a runner up. Also, when you think about it, Top Notch Comics only went 27 issues before changing to Top Notch Laugh. grin.gifAnd since my only claim to fame is a Complete Top Notch run, I had to mention it, especially since all th BSD's (comic wise) on the boards can sure make the average guy feel irrelevant.

I will go for a few outside titles I really love, because its impossible to pick only 5, so to skip the obvious....

 

Unknown World/ Strange stories from Another World - Beautiful Saunders painted covers and top notch & disturbing as hell stories.

 

Dark Mysteries - Over the top insanity, with a penchant for veins sticking out of severed limbs

 

Journey Into Fear - The Most Surrealistic of all horror comics

 

Punch - gleefully flippant in the face of more conservative books of the time

 

Four color series 2- Tiny little run with incredibly obscure characters

 

OK, I was kidding on that last one, Lets give #5 to Suspense
