Scrooge
This is just some awesome stuff! Sure is -- I've never seen anything but covers from Doolin. I'm glad to see some storytelling! Have any of his stories been reprinted for us mere mortals? (Any of the Planet Comics, for that matter.) Many histories are totally dismissive of the contents of Fiction House comics, but some of the interior scans I've seen are very attractive. Since you liked the cover to Planet # 29 the best for the little ringed moon, here's the Doolin-drawn Mars story from that issue. It's a) not the best scans and b) not the best Mars story but at least I didn't have to pick one since you picked the issue for us -

No longer will I believe that the contents of Fiction House books are all sub-par. The panel of The Cult is a hoot. Homer Simpson prototype up front. Scrooge
Thanks. No longer will I believe that the contents of Fiction House books are all sub-par. Oh yeah, you'd better believe it. Never has there been a Fiction House artist worth its salt. I mean, how dared they publish this rubbish -

Scrooge
Great story but the ending diologue stopped me cold. "Ice Cream Fund"!!!! Sure ... but I'm willing to overlook that faux-pas / head-scratcher ... after all, a couple of pages earlier we got this nugget: "Try a little atom juice, Ugly." And how cool are those skates in the second page.
Jayman
That was a great line, had to go back to see the skates as I missed them while oogleling the legs in those nylons!

Never has there been a Fiction House artist worth its salt. I mean, how dared they publish this rubbish - Murphy Anderson?... Murphy Anderson... Planet 36 original page Yeah, that guy! Wonderful page, WP. Anyone should be envious. I'm sure you noted the tongue-in-cheek tone of my initial post. I'm happy we got to see Anderson in the pages of Planet before he disappeared (at least for a while) working on Buck Rodgers. Has the Anderson BR run ever been reprinted? It seems it would be a worthwhile project. Did anyone else notice that Previews solicited a trade with more Dan Barry Flash Gordon. It picks up where the old Kitchen Sink trade left off. My copy is already ordered.
