Did you catch the other non-PC line below the cereals ad? "Attention: Women over 300 lbs! ... are you fat? ..." and I'm sure you caught the innuendo on the last page: "Jeepers! After what I did, I expected more from her than this!" (i.e., more than her hand. Wink wink Nod nod). Plus the great cartooning and the lame rhyming (sp?). This one caught my eye right away. When I started collecting Golden Age comics, I tried reading Captain Marvel but never became a fan. Today's story has gotten me curious enough that I might try reading a few issues to see if my opinion about them has changed. So this is by Joe's cousin of "Wayne and Shuster" fame! When I've seen this item mentioned before, I thought it was by Jerry and Joe! Jack Jack, you and I both assumed it was Joe's cousin (and it probably is, I'm guessing), but Joe's brother is also named Frank. I just learned that from reading it in, "Men of Tomorrow." This next story should clearly explain why all the artists of that time (circa 1940 / 1941) would check what Lou was doing and would want to be fine like Fine - Scrooge, as much as I liked the previous Lou Fine story you posted, I like this one even more. His drawing of The Spider in some panels reminds me of Lou Fine. Doesn't the Spider's long sleeved yellow shirt and blue shorts seem like an odd costume choice for someone with his name.
