Flex Mentallo
If memory serves, the above story is based upon The She Beast, from Comic Media's Horrific #7.

BangZoom
Last week there was a thread on this forum which discussed a variant cover of Green Lama #6. That prompted me to dig out my copy of the comic to take a look at that issue. While thumbing through the magazine I was surprised to discover an editorial written by the publisher, Ken Crossen, in which he commented on the subject of prejudice in this country. I'd never seen that topic addressed in a WWII era comic before. I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen that subject discussed in any other comic books, either editorially or mentioned in a comic story, during the war years? Not quite what you're looking for, but I wonder if those pages might have been an inspiration for the great EC story "In Gratitude", which saw print some years later -- Korean War vet returns to his small town and is shocked to find that they refuse to bury his black comrade who died saving his life. Drawn by Wally Wood --
