PGM - Weird Mysteries 2

A tough-ish book in a weird grade. Note the odd cut of the cover. I bought it as a G+ to G/VG but it was priced extra for the "classic cover" vibe. Spine split to the top staple, some chips out, decent pages though.

I'm going to say 1.5

What is the story with the cover (the top)? Is this damage or a common cutting problem? I don't have this book and can't recall seeing it elsewhere so I'm not sure. My guess is that the cover was detached at some point, then re-attached, there appears to be something on the back of the book by the top staple (that half moon area).

It's a miscut from the printer near as I can tell. The cutline on the cover bottom is visible but the chopper missed it. What looks like a page dropping down, that tan bit, is actually the cover.

I bought the book as a G+ to G/VG from Ritters so I'm inclined to believe it's unrestored as advertised.
