Sheesh! That is nutz.

But I'm curious about the other 7 bids that boosted the price! Were they punishment bids or folks who were similarly touched in the head?

Hey, Murph, how many 9.4's could that person have bought (from about 52-up) - 35 issues?

What probably happened is that the last bidder put his bid in with more zeros thinking the Heritage would put the decimal in the correct place. Of course Heritage only uses whole dollars and not cents. So the last bidder probably entered in the bid field 3800, which the bidder probably meant to be 38.00. It has happened to me, so I know it can happen, although not to this extreme.

I don't believe Heritage automatically bumps you up to your max bid.. so I there must be another guy bidding this guy up tongue.gif

HV, you could probably get about 25 ASM's.. at most.. that's figuring they cost 200 each.

Realize that some people might put fake bids on Heritage's website also.

There is no way to see if this a ZERO FEEDBACK type Buyer.

Maybe the Buyer

1) already has a 9.6

2) creates two fake bidders

3) bids this book up, but never pays

4) sells his book on eBay in a month or so (stating the last copy sold for $4.5K)

This is actually pretty simple.

Let's see if this same book is in Heritage's inventory in a few weeks.
