Sandman covers are extremely creative, but I really don't care for the look of the actual OA/Mixed media covers in a lot of cases.

 

However this one really really appealed to me as I think it works so well, Sandman 8 looks great published, but the ivy on the outside just turns me personally off the OA. The frame and the painted cat work so well together, and sentimentally it was the first issue of Sandman I ever read, selected out of a bargain bin as it was a month old.

 

But having said that I didn't have 18k handy smile.gif

 

Congratulations to the new owner, I don't think I've seen the actual OA to a better cover on the run.
