Batman and the mad monk tpb

It was so-so. Fun enough for me. But House is right, Batman and the Monster Men was better. Mad Monk was one of those books were it was awesome for moments, but mostly drab overall.

Matt Wagner is one of my favorites, but Monster Men was a turnoff. Six issues that could've been done in 3, it had no impact on me. At least it came out on time. I skipped Mad Monk but hopefully will be able to snag it at half-price when my LCS has a sale.

 

IMHO, Matt should just get around to Mage III and leave the mainstream supers alone for a while. Or else work with a writer who can make it exciting.
