Your Mile Markers...

37 posts in this topic

I'm just curious about what comics were your first mile-marker issues- you know, what was the first comic you spent more than $50, $100, $500, $1,000+ to get your hands on?

Even though my mile-marker isn't very impressive, I'll start us off...

$50: ASM 300 VF+ 8.5; paid $70 for this issue (actually has the ever-desired white pages!)

$100+: Still waiting....

$500+: and waiting....

$1,000+: keep on waiting....

$115,000.00

Church copy of More Fun 52 . Highest price every paid (at the time) for a comic WITHOUT trade.

BTW...... gossip.gif I bought it knowing it had very minor color touch and very minor glue.

Phewwww!!!!

That is huge, and ya the comment re trade is highly tangible. The more I learn about big 'sales', the more I come to learn they are highly likely dealer to dealer, and contain a component of trade.

Steve, I take my hat off to you and bow.

So have you got a scan of that puppy??

How much was the Carson City copy of Marvel 1 that you bought with a jar full of change? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I bought a $300 USM 1 White 9.8 my first month of collecting and I generally try to stay below that. My max was $750 for a Tales of Suspense 52, but that felt like too much money.

My largest trade was the Sensation Comics MH run (well over 60 issues) for the Detective Comics #29 Allentown, All-Flash MH run, Action Comics # 28, 30, 57 & 78 all MH copies... and a wad of cash. Total value on both ends was about 330K
