Only a crazy person would spend so much on a brand new comic such as this!

What's equally crazy is the seller's seemingly unattainable reserve. Why the heck would you risk having it NOT sell? 893frustrated.gif

To avoid Ebay fees.......? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Right, but assume the reserve is $3K - that's $30 out of his pocket, right?

That's why the seller adds $30 to the highest bid after auction...... tongue.gif

Many times items are listed with unreasonable reserves because the person wants to see what they might be able to get for the item, not necessarily that they are willing to sell the item at that time. Yes I know this contradicts ebay's policy and we all know that's never happened before.

i also think that you will see a few more 9.8s for #608 before a spidey#1 platinum ed. gets a 9.8. the 9.4 spidey#1 platinum i have looks perfect but the binding is what causes the no 9.8 factor.speaking of spidey 1990 can somebody explain this to me? in last years overstreet guide they said spiderman#1w/ gold upc was much scarcer than originally believed and their price for nm was $150. this years price guide 33 said the same thing but now the price they have is $6 confused.gif

Not that I want to join this discussion because I think these prices ar mad for modern comics! But I have to say this. Wasnt there a print run of 10,000 for the platinum Spiderman? And only 200 of the Batman?? I know which was more recetn, and during the CGC hype years, but I would say that looking at those figures, theres gonna be more spideys pop up in 9.8 than the bat?

I prefer the Supes #75 platinum, thats what my money is on shocked.gif

Good news for dealers, and maybe one of them found a big stash at "50% Overstreet Book" and asked OS for a favor.

Ended early at $2300...

Quote from the listing: "PLEASE NOTE: I do not sell outside of ebay nor will I cancel an auction early."

Yeah, right, unless someone offers me a -load of money.

Yep, and yet another instance of a seller using the EBay auction format to promote their goods and then conduct an off-camera sale to save cash.

Then again, potential bidders should thank the seller for taking it offline.

What do all think this book really sold for? That is just crazy money.

I don't even want to think about it, but just imagine the dollars it would take this guy to sell offline if the bid was already at $2300? 893whatthe.gif
