cover dent

how does a cover dent on the cover affect the grading...would it still pass in the 9..range.

 

its a little dent about half a centimetre...

impossible without a scan to give a good answer...but that book better be completely flawless otherwise and not a modern to stand a chance

I have no scanner... but there is nothing else rong...it would probably get a 9.8 without that little dent...

just going to play devil's advocate here... but have you ever submitted anything to CGC yet... there is a lot to look for... if you think it would be a 9.8 without the dent.. check it again.. and check it under a bright light... you'll be surprised what you find that keeps it away from a 9.8

I would suggest buying some low price krappy moderns graded 9.8 and crack them to see the difference.

Just trying to prevent you from "submission shock" when you get that first batch of books and they aren't what you expected....if you intend on submitting....

ive got 4 cgc graded books 2 9.8 and 2 9.8 I put the cover under light to see the cover gloss... the spine is perfect with no colour breaks...the book was never read...

I'd be hesitant to say 9.8... if there really is nothing else, then maybe a 9.6. I think it's better to be safe than sorry.

Absent a scan . . . I'd be hard-pressed to say 8.0
