Pre-screen experience pt 2 (Oh the Agony cont.)
2 of 3 invoices Scheduled for Grading
2 of the 3 invoices submitted for pre-screen were scheduled for grading today. The largest invoice is still verified but logically that tells me it should be next so hopefully tomorrow.
The three invoices make up the lot of 50 submitted because 50 books won't fit on a CGC invoice as most of us are already aware.
A very helpful board member (one of many) let me know that once the Category is filled on when it is Scheduled for Grading that means the book passed the pre-screen. Books with a blank category did not. So far of the books scheduled for gradig 75% dead on the number have passed the pre-screen.
75% seems low at first glance for an all-modern submission but the books that didn't make it weren't surprises (they'd likely be the next grade down) but when fighting to find those last dozen books or so I selected a managerie of comics that I liked that weren't the "sure things" that were the basis for doing the pre-screen.
In hindsight I probably could have taken more time to visit local comic shops or dig through my books to find twelve more books that would be better candidates but that was the same task that kept delaying my submission so finally I just made some quick decisions and I'm not unhappy with the results so far.
I should point out that just because a title seemingly passed the initial pre-screen other defects can still be found that would drop it below the pre-screen grade.
I'll update on my pre-screen experience as I can so maybe it will help others to know what to expect.
Thanks for reading.
