I probably sound dumb, but needed to know!

Hey guys,

Fairly new to collecting, and I'm looking at purchasing a comic from 1944. There's only one staple, placed at the center of the comic, which makes me worry that it's been restored. However, the two other examples of this issue that I've ever seen also had just the one staple placed in the exact same position. I'm wondering if maybe these older issues have less staples, or if this "solo staple" is cause for concern? Thanks for the input guys!
