Cover Printing Defect?

Wonder if CGC will lower grade due to this... So I'm assuming plenty of you have seen the "Deadpool Kills Deadpool #1" My Little Ponies Variant. (If not, there's plenty on eBay- 1500 copies were sold at SDCC.) Whether you love or hate My Little Ponies (I was actually a big fan of them as a kid), this variant is actually pretty cool/funny. I just recently picked one up to have slabbed, and realized that there's a discoloration on the Daredevil pony. At first I was frustrated, thinking my comic

Another victim of poor packaging

People don't know how to package Golden Age comics Sorry in advance guys; this is a small rant. I've been trying to get my hands on the full set of Captain Flight Comics- it was an 11 issue series during WWII. I'm not extremely wealthy, so for now I've been buying fairly low grade issues when I can find them, in hopes that when I do have more means later on, I can upgrade them. Recently I bought Captain Flight 2 on eBay. The price was right, as it was in rough shape already. (I'd probably ca

Thoughts on erasing pencil marks?

Or am I just being stupid? So, I'm going to show my noobiness to comics again. I recently bought an ungraded copy of ASM #6. Based on the cover/interior I would imagine it will grade around a 5 or 5.5. However, on the first page near the top of the page, "345" is written in small pencil text. Not a huge deal, but this brings up my question. Do I leave the writing there? Would this small bit of writing potentially lower the grade, or even worse, constitute a "qualified" grade? Or do I erase

Do older comic issues have less staples?

I probably sound dumb, but needed to know! Hey guys, Fairly new to collecting, and I'm looking at purchasing a comic from 1944. There's only one staple, placed at the center of the comic, which makes me worry that it's been restored. However, the two other examples of this issue that I've ever seen also had just the one staple placed in the exact same position. I'm wondering if maybe these older issues have less staples, or if this "solo staple" is cause for concern? Thanks for the input guy

A comic made SPECIFICALLY for me...

Or rather, a comic that happens to be highly coincidental to me. This is my first post, so let me preface this post by saying that I'm fairly young, and therefore don't have a considerably large source of income. That being said, I thought I'd share something that I think is pretty cool with you. I've always been a huge Spider-Man fan; I'd say about 90% of my comics are in some way, shape, or form related to him. During my constant searches for interesting Spidey comics, I came across one th
