Yes he did! In fact, I’d recommend a raw for the interior ladies as well, for those who may not realize.

This was a hard book to find, until a warehouse with tens of thousands of undistributed copies turned up. In the early 80s, this was a $10 book; by the late 80s, it was a dollar if you could sell one.  Supply greatly exceeds demand.

I attended a San Jose convention many years ago where the first 100 attendees were given a freebie comic.  I was near the front of the line when a sealed/stapled box of this issue was opened up for the first time since leaving the printer shop.  Unreal seeing all those NM uncirculated copies being handed out.  I still have my copy, but I want to add a graded copy to my collection at some point.

Quite right about this book being all too common in high grade. On the CGC census, there are 293 graded copies. Out of that, 4 are 9.9, 90 in 9.8 and 97 in 9.6. A slabbed 9.8 you could probably pick up for $100, don't know what a 9.9 would fetch.

Heritage around 10 or more years ago auctioned off a whole pallet of sealed boxes.

I remember going to my first SDCC in 2001 and being so excited that Mike Carbonaro had a whole stack of them available for $1 each.

I may have picked out 5 nice copies but I then realized that they were common.

No biggie due to the cheap price. that the cost was immaterial.
