  1. I know crypto and I know comics, so I guess I have to check this out... OK, I don't want to be another naysayer but... This is a very effective way for the operator to sell comics at a price of their own choosing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after a quick read it looks like it works (or could work) like this: I buy CBC from you with Ripple. You sell Ripple and buy comics (from yourself if you like, at your valuation) to add to the CBC collection. My CBC now has a real world valuation of (value of collection) / (number of CBC in circulation). Now, that COULD be operated in a way that is 100% equitable, but it COULD also be operated in a way that is downright cheeky Given the long history of 'scamcoins' I expect most people will assume the latter. It helps that there is a store with a physical presence. If this were to have any chance of success it needs total transparency, and I do mean TOTAL.
  2. Wind Chill factor. That train was hauling butt. Also they clearly stated "...at THIS ALTITUDE, seven minutes...", and it was commented on that this was unusually quick. So they were passing through unusually high altitude, mountainous terrain.
  3. That really didn't bother me. I mean the lead character knows that babies taste better than old people, and he's bothered about eating blended, sterile cockroach? Assuming it's high protein and low carb, I'd consider eating those right now.
  4. It was crazy stupid THIS IS A SHOE. A SHOE DOES NOT BELONG ON THE HEAD. Couldnt watch much more after that. Can someone summarize wtf the movie was about? A train that doesnt need fuel that endlessly circles the globe without maintenance and sometimes they stick a dude's arm out to freeze then bust it with a hammer. Then there's a revolt. Can someone tell me what the movie is about? Watched this last night. It's an extremely stupid premise, but a lot of fun. A bit of Oldboy, bit of 300, bit of Matrix. And I'm always enraptured by Tilda Swinton's performances. A stupid premise can nevertheless be used to explore non-stupid concepts. Like a caste system that keeps the underclass in place by letting them think they have a choice when in fact they can only choose what those in power want them to choose. Like maintaining the status quo, fear of change, survival for its own sake versus progress and risk-taking. But mainly it's about having cool scenes.
  5. Just noticed this sale (?) of a slabbed UK Star Wars Weekly: ebay link $800? Really? I see there are a few in other grades floating around. I had the idea to slab some of these a few months ago myself, though they aren't going to be 9.8.
  6. I haven't seen the latest eps yet. Lorelei?! Cool. I'd almost forgotten about her. There was an issue of Thor I read more than the usual number of times...
  7. WTF, this is the longest deuce in history!! Sorry, Still in the woks, may be somewhat delayed..... Stir-fried?
  8. It is Awesome! Love the vector graphics, love the sounds. It came with a (homebrew) 3D headset and everything.
  9. I have a Vectrex on its way to me. At last! Been wanting to play one of those for 30 years, no kidding! Will post a pic (assuming it all works).
  10. I love looking at stuff like this now, and remembering all those arguments about C64 games being too dependent on flashy graphics instead of great gameplay, like on the Vic20. It's also amusing that the biggest 'wow' element of those clips for me is the muddy puddles. I'm like "Check out that mud! It's so real!"
  11. Oh ok, have fun moving How old is the kid ? I almost cried at one point, may not want to traumatize him It really is like running around in a Ghibli movie, can't wait to get my tv back.... Kids are 10 and 5, and I raised them on Ghibli. They're sure to respond to it. The only problem will be getting sufficient time on there (the wife doesn't let us sit and stare at screens for hours, it's outrageous).
  12. "I'm not angry, i'm disappointed in you son" karma.... You can get it on the PSN store a few bucks cheaper i think... Anyway, i'm 12 hours in now and have only scratched the surface i think Finding a few things i don't like but overall this is probably one of my favorite games ever. (top 5) But it SUCKS playing on 27"...My 60" got picked up for repair the other day Sorry, can't pass up a quick buck with my financial state! I'm moving house this weekend, but once settled I'm thinking it's very likely I shall treat myself and my son to a PS3 and a copy of the game.
  13. Yep, and it is with considerable regret that I have it listed on ebay since before it arrived. I was hoping to get two copies, but the store decided 'one per customer' and cancelled my extra. I don't have a PS3, but I fully expect I will buy one and another (regular, not wizard, I guess) copy of the game sometime soon! A Ghibli JRPG is too good a combo to miss, and warrants coming out of my videogame retirement.
  14. Downloadable Content. Says me who has never accessed any 'downloadable content' in his life because I haven't been in the scene since the PS2. I understand the kids these days have their consoles plugged into the net
  15. damn flippers I feel sorry for the people who preordered 5 month ago only to have it canceled last week Maybe it's just in the US there's a shortage problem UK version of the Wizard's Edition. Didn't have the same problem as the US pre-orders, but still all but sold out prior to its 1st Feb release date.
  16. Jealous. I'm dying to buy a PS3 and a copy of this game and play it through, but my life is just too busy to allow it I was also sorely tempted to order one of those wizard editions last year, but decided it was a foolish expense and I'd probably regret it The jealousy was too much. I scoured the online shops and placed no less than four orders on sites that weren't already stating 'sold out'. Had one cancellation so far, and one confirmed despatched! I was figuring they might not have the stock, and if I ended up with extra I'd just flip the rest. Now I know I've at least got one

  18. I'd compare them to ashcans in the comic hobby. Unique (or a handful) known, with black and white covers sometimes on a mock interior etc. Often highly valued by collectors, yet at the same time, despite their rarity, not as highly valued as real examples of key books. My interest in videogames is nostalgia, so my most highly prized items would be high grade examples of the games that made me. I think that market will always be a lot bigger than the market for production items etc.
  19. I need one of those. 'Maybe one day', sigh... I love that you combined it with a love of GA Cap books.
