  1. This is getting some negative reviews on Amazon already. Tarzan by Foster is great stuff.
  2. and from the same issue. There was always a lot of kinky action at Fiction House.
  3. I enjoy those Greasemonkey stories from Wings, 11 in this case.
  4. The guy with the big red hat doesn't get a lot of attention. From Detective 38...
  5. Meskin's work on The Vigilante is a treat to see. From Action 46 and 53...
  6. Some villains look a little more evil than others. Not a splash but worth seeing. Anyone familiar with the guy with the wicked smile?
  7. I do like those early Our Gang comics with Barks and Kelly stories. Early Tom and Jerry was pretty good too.
  8. Are those your copies up for grabs? Killer set! I read some of the articles on LB Cole in this issue of Alter Ego I picked up on Tuesday: You can read some of it here: http://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1076 Is there another comic which has been used as a cover for both AE and CBM?
  9. I am still a fan of Marcoux and his Supersnipe strip but it is nice to see other things that he drew.
  10. I remember your mention of Webster and all three, Dodd, Williams and Webster, seem similar in style. I have a book of Webster cartoons somewhere but haven't seen it since I purchased it during my vacation in South Carolina.
  11. Any Ed Dodd art in your collection? I purchased this for two reasons. First, it reminded me of J.R. Williams' art (Out Our Way) and, second, it reminded me of what I thought retirement would be like.
  12. Nice books. I am not sure why the Three cover is so popular. I haven't got one yet.
  13. Someone mentioned that they liked All Flash 1 and I thought they would like the ad to. Unfortunately, I have forgotten which thread posted the cover.
  14. I love these little bios found in science fiction pulps. Phil Nowlan, the creator of Buck Rogers, was mentioned in an old Fantastic Adventures mag. Didn't know or forgot that he was from Bala-Cynwyd, PA. That is about 3 or 4 miles from the former location of Fat Jack's Comic Crypt which has been replaced by Popeye's and a CVS. Aren't these drugstores popping up everywhere. They don't sell comics anymore but a gramme is better than a dam, I guess.
  15. I'll take a shot in the dark and say it's the Allentown copy of Mystic #1. Not mine but I wish...
  16. Thanks, BB. (thumbs u I'm not familiar with that story so I appreciate your bringing it to my attention. I see according to GCD that the story appeared in ADVENTURE #84 which is an issue I own, so I'm going to sit down and read it later tonight. You're welcome and here is another reason to buy Daredevil 1. I am not sure whether Bill or someone else posted this one but it is a nice ad worth seeing again. From Comics Plus
  17. I thought you might be interested in this Sandman splash since you have shown an interest in carnival and the circus in other posts.
  18. Biljo also published the Comicollector and Alter-Ego after Jerry switched to other fan projects like microfilm and the Keltner Index. Bill was a terrific artist and I still enjoy his work.
  19. I like that title. It has two of my favorite superheroes and Wonder Woman. However, I have always been a little more interested in World's Finest and it is a little easier to obtain (as you mentioned). Bet that looks nice with all of those other keys books in your collection.
  20. I saw a re-released version (1952) with the title changed to "Nyoka and the Tigermen". The film featured three favorite male stars. One was Charles Middleton, aka Ming, and another was William Benedict who played Whitey in the Bowery Boys movies. Does anyone remember the third?
  21. None of these are pricey compared to any Captain America or All Select comics and are easier to find than Mystic or Daring. I really want a Four Color 29. I used to have a gorgeous copy that I sold to Fat Jack's Comicrypt in the Summer of '89(to purchase Batman comics, of course). The copy I had was so nice that I wonder if it was a pedigree. That may have worked out for you. The prices of Four Colors were high compared to the Batman comics. Since then the price of Batman comics has gone out of sight. Was that the Comicrypt near City Line? I used to visit the bagel shop near there after buying my comics. They had terrific bagels and I enjoyed eating them and reading my comics from Fat Jack's. Never met Jack though. Did he exist?
  22. Always one of my favorite Mister Mystery covers, and it's pretty underrated. Nice copy! I always get a chuckle from looking at that cover. Every mummy keeps a role of tape for repairs but perhaps a little duck tape would be more appropriate. The interior of those comics contain some choice panels that would give even Wertham bad dreams. e.g.
