  1. Sometimes it's tricky because I think Jack Kamen and Matt Baker were tag-teaming much of their work for the Fox jungle titles. Baker's stuff has that extra level of style panache and figure-drawing excellence that Kamen falls juuuust short of. One thing about your All Top comic that makes me suspect it's Kamen is the woman's feet. Where are they? Her front leg looks like it is planted into the ground, and the other foot is completely hidden. I think Baker would have found a solution to the "foot problem" of this image that was more anatomically inclusive. All of this is entirely my non-artist, layman opinion of course. And if it turns out this cover really is Baker, I'll gladly eat my words. I think the curl in her hair looks more like Kamen but Baker was into fancy hair. e.g.
  2. I almost purchased one of these a few years ago but I thought $150 was too much. I did purchase this one which looked like Baker art to me at the time. All Top 16 looks more like Baker but there is a similarity.
  3. I have 3 or 4 more Blue Beetle covers but these are probably some of the best.
  4. I added a few more Nedor covers to the Schomburg collection.
  5. Some panels were more graphic than others. This one is from Phantom Lady.
  6. What about tank cover to tank cover? The first tank looks more like a Renault FT-17 and the Action 40 tank looks like a Panzer III which was out-gunned by Grants and Shermans that were made for the British during WWII. They were replaced by the PZ IV and PZV which were bigger with a longer range gun.
  7. I like that Catwoman cover and Batsignals cover in the front row.
  8. I know this is an old post but I'm just making my way through this thread and thought this deserved some recognition. Very cool, BB-gun! Thanks but I only added the final figure. I think plady69 prepared the original and deserves most of the credit.
  9. Is that the highest graded copy? I'm still looking for one of those.
  10. I forgot to mention that the Batman 14 has a Jerry Robinson signature and is my only CGC Batman book. bb
  11. And I will stop at 100. Skipped a few but its obvious I enjoy collecting Batman comics, especially golden age.
  12. I am still missing 2 and 6. OK, there are some xerox copy covers and a reprint of issue 1 in the pile but I am not picky. Oh, I have 11 and 12 but they are in another box somewhere. bb
  13. What kind of stamp is on the cover? Great stories in the early issues.
  14. Those All Star Comics are from Michael Resnick. Some of you may recognize his name as the guy who wrote the Price Guide before Overstreet (but after GB Love's golden age guide). Since some of pages have figures cut out, I thought they might be from Jerry Bails' original collection which he sliced up to make his scrapbook. Not the case but I thought it was interesting that someone else had done the same thing. bb I also have a centerfold from Green Hornet 6 or 7, pages from Action 17, 34 and Pep 3, Captain America 60 pages, Whiz covers, Adventure 51 cover, and others.
  15. I remember seeing Doohan at a convention in Houston I think. He sat on a table top and chatted with everyone. I think it was before the second movie which he liked a lot compared to the first one. bb
  16. ... and 36 now! I am awfully fond of the Mad Scientist cover on Action 32 by Shuster.
  17. My oldest favorite is Action 17 with the roll-over Tank cover. Second is the Fred Ray tin can robot cover. And my most recent favorite is the Super Harlem Globetrotter cover.
  18. I still need a few of the early issues to complete 1-100 but it is shaping up.
  19. Still working on my Mystery in Space collection but here are some of my favorites and I have the Showcase issues already.
  20. Are there Fox and Timely characters in the book or is it just Cosmo stories?
  21. Cool books I need just one more issue to complete 100-323. I am working on my golden age collection. I still have my silver age collection from the sixties. Superman and Batman together ...and with Sprang's art! What could be better?
  22. BZ, Very funny. I think this is what my Industrial Microbiology class felt like while attempting to finish a 300 page text. Even Power Point presentations to review every chapter couldn't save them.
