  1. Excuse the double posting but I kind of liked this cover.
  2. That's an incredible, unbelievable, fantastic, weird, eerie cover. Too bad the series ended on such a sour note.
  3. I like the Harvey D ick Tracy and the Dickie Dare too. BZ, didn't you use that DD in a Quiz or is my memory failing me? But you don't see those Sparkman covers as often as Tarzan. I like em. And Captain Battle looks pretty sharp too.
  4. For a second I thought you meant they had the images of robots on them. That would be cool! Nothing fires up the ladies like pajamas with robots on them (thumbs u I have some pajamas with motorcycles on them. My wife gave them to me and I think I will ask her for a pair with robots. bb
  5. Since we are mentioning DT and other books in the Crime Genre Box, I found this laboratory related crime cover on ebay and had to have it. Cleaned it up a little with Photoshop.
  6. How about some giant robot Sunday funnies? Found this on Flickr. Thanks to the guy that posted it.
  7. Congratulations on your purchase. That's one I've never owned. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350270491560&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WXF%3F&GUID=e1cbc4bc11c0a0e204976507ffdc66f8&itemid=350270491560&ff4=263602_263622 Got that one and the other one too. Are there more DT Big Big Books?
  8. Flag cover! Captain Marvel wasn't the only patriot in the Fawcett family. Raboy flag covers are even better! This one is still a favorite.
  9. That book and the CP1 have both been reprinted and looked pretty good but I like having the originals. Someday I will replace my old copy of CP1 with a better one but don't think the VP1 will ever be replaced.
  10. I haven't seen this movie in years but I remember it fondly. George Reeves played one of the characters but no Tom Tyler unfortunately.
  11. That was a tough one, I wasn't expecting trolls on a Whiz cover. I was hoping it would be a bit of a challenge. (thumbs u I didn't think of Whiz either but should have. I bought a copy of this Whiz with an ogre cover from Bob Horn and saw this Captain Midnight Grimlin issue while I was searching for the cover.
  12. Yes I believe it is,even though Overstreet credits Irv Novick. I think the GCD also lists it as a Novick cover. Obviously wrong. It is signed and looks like work by Montana, if you can read the fine print on the blackboard which I couldn't. bb
  13. I stopped my daring run at 8...great book! 2 different runs, despite the numbering. daring became comedy. and the later darings aren't daring 'mystery', either. for some reason, the second mystic series didn't continue the original run's numbering like the darings did. and agreed, very pretty book there. Found my copy at the flea market. Purchased off the back of a pickup truck.
  14. It's been a while since I looked at mine, but IIRC this wasn't WWII related. Just your run-of-the-mill sadist. Actually it was Hitler's secret account books written on the backs of men. Reminds you of tattooing in slave labor camps which was probably the idea. It is not necessarily a holocaust cover but is related. Clue comics also featured an evil T-Rex which wore a Nazi arm band..er leg band. Other superheroes in that issue of Clue were Twilight and Snoopy, Zippo, Nightmare and Micro-Face. All of them were strange. Art by Tony Dipreta and Rudy Palais I think. bb
  15. I lost a copy of Detective 53 which was up for bid on ebay. I just needed the cover but it had a copy on Batman 1 as the interior. Did anyone get that copy? Do they need the cover? Bats 1 is supposed to go on sale this week but it is incomplete.
  16. I really like those pop-up books. I have also seen a Pinnochio Book, Popeye book and a Terry and the Pirates. I think they are listed in the guide. I have one in a box somewhere but I don't think it is anything special and it may be broken. Still looking.... Your books are in great shape and they look so good in with the other BLB books. bb
  17. Dollman never had those problems but the Antman did. I think the perspectives of the artist sold the series. bb
  18. I never thought Mary Marvel was ugly. Isn't that her under that lead lined bag?
  19. Several artists worked on Black Angel including Fuje and Palais. Nice quiz BZ but I think Scrooge has all of those Air Fighter covers memorized.
  20. By the way, this is probably well known but new to me. Craig Flessel did RC Cola ads for the back of DC comics for a while. I guess Johnny Mack Brown was a spokesman for the soda producer. Johnny was another football player that thought he would take his run at making westerns. It worked out well for Duke.
  21. I have a Death Ray. Is that eclectic or too scientific? I have a doll collection. Well they were gifts from my mother and should go to my daughter when she decides to take them.
  22. Is a set of Calgary Eyeopeners considered eclectic? Lots of Barks' drawings in those so maybe they are not eclectic enough.
  23. I would love to have these pistols but I only have ordinary cap pistols. Nothing special.
