  1. I have some collectors stuff that may be a little eclectic. I got puzzles. Always buy them if I can't find any comics. And I have some board games. I have two Superman games, one Prince Valiant, a little Orphan Annie and a few bits and pieces. And I have these Leeds Bisques. Mickey, Dopie, Donald Dumbo and Thumper. Rings and badges
  2. Scans were from the JVJ collection donated to GA.UK
  3. Hollingsworth did some work in Blue Beetle if I remember correctly. He also drew the art for this text story in Future World.
  4. I noticed you have a four color signed by Joyce. I used to have a lot of those. Sold the Suspense 3 and 4 tho.
  5. These belong in the golden age thread. Those Gene and Our Gang issues look spectacular!
  6. And the Hangman example which looks like it has eyes by Cooper in the background.
  7. I noticed this splash page looked a little like the Swiss Family Robinson strip. I thought one was by Yarbrough and the other by George Storm. I am a little suprised by the similarity. Hangman by Storm was pretty weird looking compared to other strips that he did.
  8. Fort Apache? First of the Cavalry Trilogy. Yellow Ribbon was in color. Is the other one Rio Grande or some other river? bb I would like to see Red River again and Stagecoach. Tom Tyler (capt. marvel) plays the villian in that second movie. Yes, Sir. Fort Apache at the tail end of the movie when Wayne has to pretend General Thursday was valiant instead of a nincompoop. Have Stagecoach next on my streaming list (thumbs u Link to Ducks? In Fort Apache, the comanche leader is Cochise (sp?) but Geronimo also appears and here's Don Rosa's depiction of Geronimo in Uncle Scrooge's Life and Time # 6 Bis - Bon Jour, Nice connection Scrooge. Are you sure you are not from MIdwestern Europe. Comic's in French isn't it. bb
  9. Finally got the color copy. The art looks pretty good with color too.
  10. I often wonder why so many collectors want to buy Captain America comics but then I pick up a few scraps and see the stories and it seems more obvious. Water wheel torture, Bloody Assassin vs Human Torch and strange Captain America stories make it worth risking the Auction of Death.
  11. Tough decision this weekend. I don't know whether I want to go see Treasure of the Sierra Madre or Cop Out. Oops, off topic, that is John Duck Wayne in Fort Mallard and Treasure of the Gladstone Gander Mountains. bb
  12. Fort Apache? First of the Cavalry Trilogy. Yellow Ribbon was in color. Is the other one Rio Grande or some other river? bb I would like to see Red River again and Stagecoach. Tom Tyler (capt. marvel) plays the villian in that second movie.
  13. I'm looking for a Detective 43 cover.
  14. I guess this is the origin story from Green Mask 7.
  15. I could use a cover for this one. Wanted 13.
  16. Wanted has some good covers but the interior stories look even better.
  17. Don Rosa made a quick drawing of Scrooge for me. Well I don't know if he was happy but Scrooge looked peeved. Business-like I guess.
  18. Oops, that wasn't a Timely but they were both issue 38. Very similar art too I bet. bb
  19. cool...post a Terry Toons #38 (thumbs u why Because Scan from Metropolis comics But I like
  20. Need coverless copy of Marvel Mystery 36. Need a cover for Captain America 40. Need a cover for Captain America 13 (But I changed the scans below to add a little variety). I could also use the cover to Marvel Mystery 30 which had a similar theme. Need a Hangman 6 centerfold and covers for Hangman 2 and Jackpot 2, Top-Notch 11 and 12. Need a coverless copy of Pep 33 and 35. Need a coverless copy of Punch 10 and Sensation 27. Add Daredevil 27 and Boy 30 to the need covers group and Dynamic 9 and Flash 42, 82 Firestone 1947, Batman 25 and 36 and Mystery in Space 2 to the need coverless copy group. I have two Blue Ribbon issues (13 and 17) that need a cover and one that needs a centerfold. Will trade a Batman 22 centerfold for a Batman 19 or 36 centerfold. I have a Batman 68 with no cover and the last ad page missing for trade and a coverless Batman 22 with the second page missing. I have an extra copy of Batman 40. Also need a cover for Batman 19 but a good scan would do for now. I have the Mighty Midget. Just need the Cap 20 cover with the glue spot.
  21. I was looking for Weird Menace covers when I saw this book in my archives and thought about the relationship between Barks and Hitchcock. Barks could draw monsters but in this cover he worked on the readers imagination. You can anticipate how ugly the monster is or how ridiculous. He was building up the suspense. Just like Hitchcock. It is the build up and not the actual event that gets most of the attention. It is a Different Philosophy from the current "car chase" movies and shoot-em-ups. bb
  22. I would post more but the cat is sleeping on the scanner again! Do you have any Duck Albums?
  23. Grandma didn't take care of my Duck books. My little brother and I beat them up pretty good and the rest are from the flea market. Some of those Scrooge books are still pretty nice but they are mostly Gold Key.
  24. Jack, Thanks for posting the Christmas Parade 2. Here is a 4. Now we only need an issue 3 to finish the run.
