  1. and more westerns. I was a dedicated reader of Red Ryder when I was young.
  2. Glad to hear from you BZ. Any new toys? If not, Robotman has kept us all amazed with his collection which has a wide variety of goodies.
  3. That is one of the few Mad covers that I have. I haven't seen the flip-side in so long that I didn't remember the gender switch backcover.
  4. Pence copy! I do like those Mickey Mouse lights and those Christmas Parade issues. I just transferred this over from the group shot thread.
  5. Absolutely! I wish I had more originals but I'm glad I have the Carl Barks library graphic novels. They make for a great read! I like the Barks' stories but any of the stories with Ducks or mice were read with Christmas joy in my heart.
  6. I like Dell comics. It is always nice to go through the boxes and pick out some Christmas Disney comics to read.
  7. Christmas Supersnipes are special... But I like any of those Supersnipes. Early is better but there were also some good stories by Marcoux in Army and Navy 1.
  8. Love the display! Same thing happened to me- it's a sickness that has no medical treatment or cure! Congrats! And if we're lucky, there will never be a cure! Best disease ever! There is EC... and all the rest. Truth is...I can't resist either one. My disease is chronic and incurable but can be controlled by frequent addition of horror comics to the pile.
  9. I added a few more Lone Rangers to my pile. I do like the red shirt wash covers.
  10. This one is almost as old as the Famous Funnies but missed it by a couple of years.
  11. And a Mutt and Jeff Christmas comic page
  12. I couldn't find any issues with Lois smoking . I checked sup 1 action 17, 21, 30 and etc. That is far from a complete check but there were a lot of people smoking in those early issues of Superman especially Perry White. Perhaps Lois dipped snuff or chewed.I did find another nice scan which I took from Action 80. bbMr. Mxyztplk also added the original sixties price. Just wondered if Lois was found being a poor role model by smoking, chewing or taking a pinch of snuff. I watched the original Superman TV show last night and noticed that Clark Kent rejected a cigarette when offered saying "I don't smoke them" or something like that. In the fifties, cigarettes were smoked in every movie and treated like they were health tonics. Alcohol was treated the same way in the movies from the thirties and forties but I blame it on prohibition.
  13. All I have are Fiche scans of USA 5 but it does have a couple of pretty good splash pages. I purchased a copy of USA 14 from my local comic book store when I lived near Middletown, NY. Here is the Whizzer splash.
  14. Love the Cole. How about a little KIng Kirby.
  15. The colors on this group shot really stand out. Very nice. Ken One reason I don't scan very much is the colors don't look good when I use my scanner. Camera (NIkon) seems to work better.

  17. Speaking of great artists that drew western comics, I do enjoy my Ghost Rider and Bobby Benson issues by Ayers and Frazetta.
  18. I like those Baker western comics too.
  19. I always like those Superman splash pages.
  20. Nice. I wonder if those are Finnish troops taking on a Russian tank during the Winter War? Let me read it after eating popcorn and i'll let you know! Keep those butter fingers off such a great looking copy. Ha ha. LMK when you tire of that old rag. The Vickers faced the T-26 in the Winter War. Vickers resembled the Panzer 2 and the T-26 was a post-WW I design. Neither resembled the tank on the cover. Perhaps it was a French design.
