  1. There is no mechanism for banning. The closest we have is the "Hall of Shame". The poll would indicate that he is a qualified candidate Has 30 days from initial payment for any malodorous box transaction passed yet? Malodorous. Time to hit the dictionary.
  2. Kudos to: october for a sweet copy of Spectacular Spider-Man #27. Considering the package was delivered unusually late by our postman AND sat outside of our mailbox overnight and had to endure dawn's moisture which soaked through the package (), it's a wonder this ended well. The interior packaging job saved the day. Comic book unscathed. :hail:
  3. Just another manic Monday kudos out to: --schleprock for some sweet, early Bronze ASMs. --mazman77 for good prices and grading on an ASM #239 and my first copies of Secret Wars #8.
  4. Have Hook's books arrived? I'll chime in here. I bought one book from Hooks from the now quickly becoming infamous sales thread (an ASM #44). He had it graded as a VG and I was pleasantly surprised when I got it in hand and went through it closely and graded it a FN- (VG/FN at worst). I didn't notice anything peculiar until some steam started coming off the staples and a distinct smell of a burning iron reached my nostrils. For real, though, I think the book was unscathed though I can't say for certain. I'll look at it again but must give a few of these to my old buddy Hooksie.....................................................Whaddya doin', knucklehead? Come forth, come forth. Issue your press conference. I would like to know if there was anything else not disclosed on the ASM #54 I bought in that thread. No evidence of waffles on pancakes on the book but still... That was the one he disclosed that he cracked out of the slab. I sold it to him last year when I got it back from CGC in all its purple label glory. The resto was a small amount of color touch on cover done by a professional. I'll check out my records and confirm the details if you'd like. PM me.

  6. Since the probation thread is continuing to kick some azz, length-wise, how 'bout a bump of the ol' kudos thread: Kudos to: dzminn...for a nice batch of books and the usual--and appreciated--multitude of freebies. divad...for some sweet Bronze books and also for some freebie generosity, including a NM copy of MTU #77 featuring Ms. Marvel. bhhooks22...for being himself like he can only be, and mailing me an ASM #44, graded VG, that was really a FN-. But the story does not end there. Not by a long shot. The package arrived with this lovely red-inked stamp: "Received in Damaged Condition." I cringed. Then I realized the package was basically unsealed. Double cringe. Then out came the two pieces of hard cardboard taped together...with no comic book between them. Just when I thought this was a Hooks prank that wasn't terribly funny, I reached in and plucked out the ASM #44 in question and if it wasn't for the double boarded action, only Yahweh knows what might've happened to it. Hooks somehow delivers.
  7. Thought I'd alert the ASM brethren to another fairly astounding ComicLink situaton shaping up...an ASM #86 in their current focused auction (ending tonight in less than 5 hours)--CGC 9.0 (WP)--is at 600.00. I know this issue is tough in grade, but I just checked the census and there's 64 copies out of 194 total that are higher than 9.0. Current Overstreet has VF/NM at 100.00, so not too shabby at 6 times Guide. Could it go much higher by auction's end?
  8. And thanks to John A III for including my want list in an errand to his LCS. As a result of him picking up ASM #581 for me, I now have a 44 year run of ASM: #23 (Mar. 1965) through #595 (July 2009).
  9. I'll echo kudos to dwip99: he picked up shipping on two early reader copies of ASM, priced them at a bargain, undergraded them, and tossed in a couple modern ASM freebies. :hail:
  10. GPA is a paid subscription (or a tolerant, generous subscriber on a good day); the CGC census is on this website. That #86 has 194 copies...only 11 in 9.6...and only 2 in 9.8. Good luck on that. If you even score a 9.6 and are in a selling mood, you'll bring home a bit of bacon.
  11. I remember it took a while, after joining the boards, to discover there was a kudos thread. Then, I became somewhat diligent in leaving kudos. Well, recently, I've fallen way behind. I think I owe 'em going back to March. So...thanks to the following boardies who I've done business with in recent months. Some long-time sellers. Some newbies. I can say that all the transactions went well. No police involvement was necessary, either from my end or their end  ( But I would like to say if bhhooks25 posts a pic of himself in a Speedo, I will be contacting the Texas National Guard). almoe BillS25 blue808 CDaBruce Comcasthawk comicseekers dekeuk Dover dwip99 dzminn eddly FlyingDonut ft88 GACollectibles Lebowski mazman77 MCMiles mikeyriffhard october Rich_Henn rube11 spiderman-on-tilt stinkowhiff TheAvenger80 The Resurrection Warlord
  12. Yep, that's fairly accurate. There were a couple other board members in Cleveland that helped alleybat come to his senses, and my bank also stepped in and helped out, as did the postal inspectors. And of course Mark Zaid. Remember; if it's too good to be true.... Preach it, brother, preach it. :hail:
