  1. I've got a raw 6.0. I might start hoarding the issue; I'll need to stock up on some 6.0s.
  2. I love this issue. When I was a lad, my brother picked up issue #150 but we missed issue #151 and #152 and I started collecting ASM at 153 on. I ordered several issues through mail order. It was hit or miss back then, but my 151 and 152 were nice books. Alas, they did not fair too well in my young hands. Several years past and I upgraded several issues, 151 being one of them. I finally sent my uprgraded #151 in to cgc grading and it came back a 9.4. Would have thought 9.6, but I'm happy with it. :hail: Thanks for sharing. I too had to upgrade my original owner copy.
  3. Any current owners of ASM #151 in CGC 9.6 who want to publicly share? When you got your copy, how much it was, and where you got it from? If you don't want to go public and think such a request rude, then you can PM me. Or, if you simply want to say you're a proud owner of a 9.6, feel free to exercise free speech. There's only 19 of 'em on the census (out of 193 submitted). My story, semi-tinged with regret, is forthcoming. And if anyone definitely knows who is the fortunate owner of the single 9.8 on the census, do tell. Common sense tells me it's Mr. Brulato, but then again, maybe someone beat him to the punch. I see GPA shows that it sold for 1,000 bucks back in September 2006. If that copy ever goes up for sale, or if another one emerges and is auctioned off, I'm thinking it's going to be a battle in the trenches and a predictably insane amount of money realized.
  4. This thread hasn't seen any action in over a month? :naughty: I poured through each of the 39 pages of this thread (it spans two plus years) and was astounded that the only pic of ASM #151 that I saw...THE ONLY ONE...was in a post Stronguy made where he posted small pics of the whole Bronze Age ASM run: #80-199 (a number of pics/scans are no longer showing, but STILL!). I am correcting this travesty today by copping a scan of the sweet issue in question, a very high grade one that recently sold here on the boards. Besides singling out this issue by its image (admittedly a non-key issue), I want to discuss some serious crazy stuff going on with the market value of this black cover beauty. I will draw from personal experience just over a year ago, some boardies' input which proved accurate, GPA info (my beloved just got me a subscription ), some personal research, and the current winds of change that will still have you guessing how much this bad boy can go for if you got one...or want one. Please, fellow ASM Bronze fans, chime in on this persoanl favorite. And lest anyone think I'm only in it for values and market and so on, this was the time frame when I was a kid and readiing the title--and there was nothing like it. Overstreet reminds us that this issue is where "Spider-Man disposes of clone body." The Shocker comes to town too. And sewers and rats. Mercy!
  5. And a kudos back to Pontoon for a very reasonable deal on a reader copy of Journey into Mystery #112. Thanks, Rich.
  6. Very nice one, c-mack. ( beats my raw VG- by a bit ).
  7. Welcome to the boards! The constant flood of sweet ASMs on these boards will likely be a source of delight and frustration for you (or maybe I should just speak for myself. ).
  8. Kudos to: --alecholland for my CGC Raffle gift--a slabbed Saga of the Swamp Thing #20 and a batch of Bronze Age Marvel Team-Ups and Star Spangled War Stories. Thanks, Erich. --nochips for a Bettie Page Comics #1 that is high grade...but much cheaper than the one Doug Schmell had not too long ago on his website--a CGC 10.0 for 500 bills (to sweeten the pot, it came with a raw copy too ). Gracias, Stuart.
  9. Kudos to: --LoneTree for a big batch of Marvel Team-Ups and some odds & ends--and a couple of freebies. --tortoise for a great trade transaction where I got a much-needed ASM #20 for my personal set.
  10. Kudos to: --spiderman-on-tilt for a sweet, high grade ASM #150 slab for a very reasonable price--and a copper ASM freebie to boot. :hail: --szelim for a nice deal on a low grade ASM #8 slab that draws me ever near to completing that ASM run.
  11. Uh, no. I think you misunderstand the situation and the proceedings. First, it wouldn't cost six figures, as I believe Mark is simply retaining this attorney as specialized help. This isn't going to cost six figiures. I think Mark will be doing a great deal of the work, but as he mentioned, he may need oe help with respect to how family court works, issues about who the judge is, nuances with regards to child support Second, this isn't a situation where he can counter sue. This is a child support hearing in family court. If he wanted to sue Jan, he'd have to do so in a separate action. I haven't misunderstood anything. You are kidding youself if you don't think Dupcak if he feels he is wrongly accused wouldn't file suit against esquirecomics or anyone else whom he feels is ruining his buisness and public reputation. Simply bringing up what some feel are unethical buisness practices at a single custody hearing and to think that you're going to get the answers you're looking for isn't even realistic. I can only hope for such an opportunity to delve into every aspect of his life and financial business. Bring it on Danny!!! Please, please, please. My law firm address for service of the legal papers is 1250 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Ste. 200, Washington, D.C. 20036. :hail:
  12. Kudos to: Hamlet for an accurately graded, low grade ASM #16. Great communication too. Hats off to this newbie--I'd buy from him again with no hesitation. Thanks again for the deal, Brandon. :hail:
  13. Unbeknownst to the father I presume? A little, but the father didn't really care. Uncaring fathers with their Silver Age gems.
  14. Kudos to: ft88 for a couple of recent packages of Silver and Bronze Age ASMs (including a low grade #129 that had eluded me for some time).
  15. Kudos to: --mazman77 for a 1st print ASM #583 that I was really neediing for my set--the non-variant cover with the gals on it. --tigers comics for 3 reader copies of Bronze Age ASMs that I got for 10.00 shipped--and he threw in another 3 BA ASMs as freebies. --comix4fun for a sweet ASM #125 slab that brings me immediately back to my youth in 1973, and ditto for a Detective Comics #435 slab--my first Massachusetts pedigree. --rube11 for a just-arrived ASM #108 slab at a nice price.
