  1. I received some books with the same packing method. I'll have to look again, but think the grades were in the acceptable margin of error category (but maybe I lucked out in I don't think there was damage--and it was a long mailing route: California to Georgia). I do have his/her mailing address but assume you're wanting a phone # or e-mail (which I don't have).
  2. Hey kryptospidey...it seems like you're going beserk. And you're at the beach. Relax, brother, I think it's going to be alright.
  3. Overdue kudos--even going back to the first of the year. Thank you, one and all, for the books and deals. I've found the boards to be a great place for buying and trading since coming on last fall. 4. Except not everyone sends a PM. Maybe everyone should not receive their books then... Anyone know who Scott Marshall is? I'm sure I owe him a book..not sure what. Okay, I am not owed Action #373... I am Scott Marshall... I just sent a PM to cd4ever... I am not Supergirl. :frown: But I did pick up a Supergirl #1 from cd4ever's thread... I have not had a sex operation. I used first person too much.
  5. Except not everyone sends a PM. Maybe everyone should not receive their books then... :frown:
  6. I'd love to have Mr. Lee sign one of mine, but living in Georgia has its drawbacks. :frown: But congrats on landing a rather priceless signature in the comic world--and on an ASM key no less!
  7. Those who improperly use the apostrophe should be added to the great scroll of judgment...
  8. I thought of PMing you initially, but then thought if I was a potential seller and wasn't in the know, I'd want to be in the know (so that's why I posted it publicly). I chose my wording carefully, i.e., "clarification/resolution" since all I knew was that you were on the probation thread. For what it's worth, I had no intention of hijacking your thread.
  9. Kudos to: "Zipper68" for the Marvel-Two-in-One #1 and the extra--two discs loaded with MTIO #1-100! "Flying Donut" for some Silver and Bronze Age books from the fiver store. Both packages arrived today, safe and sound, and contained good deals... Thank you kindly...
  10. Kudos to GACollectibles for some post-holiday books--thanks. Nice packing job; it took me forever to get to the books but they were safe and sound!
  11. I agree with all you state, though some of us had a great time completing our runs pre-ebay. It is definitely a lot easier today (especially if you have cash). I just remember as a kid waiting with anticipation for those mail order packages to arrive to see what goodies (and in what condition) would arrive. This is a great thread I love reading and wish I were adding more to it. Thanks to all the contributers. I too have enjoyed perusing this thread and finding out about others' collections and pursuits. My beloved wife, not too long ago, remarked that my return to collecting was nothing more than a "ridiculous childhood obsession." However, she has been more than forgiven: she bought me an ASM #5 (CGC 3.5) for Christmas (she even won an ebay auction for the thing, and shelled out $222, which I think was a good deal). She's ready for me to sell my collection so we can get into a house--geez louise, just when I'm really getting going...
  12. Kudos to theshadowknows for the ASM #29 and Ghost Rider #10 (1950s) that arrived at my doorstep this morning--compliments of the 2007 Holiday raffle...Now that ASM #12-32 gap is no more!
  13. Nice pick up (one day down the road I need to get those Annuals). There's an ASM #4 (6.0, I think) that was posted on ComicLink yesterday with what I thought to be some curious grader comments on an old CGC label--"Pre-Marvel chipping. 1 chip missing." It seems I've seen not a few #1s where sellers will tout the lack of Marvel chipping. Is it so precise, chronologically speaking, to where there is a specific month when it began occurring? Also, it seems funny to me that the lack of chipping is noted and then followed up with "1 chip missing"--was this the beginning of the chipping era? But what about all those #1s with chipping? More questions than answers for yours truly this early morning. Any thoughts, anyone?
  14. Kudos to the following folks whose packages were awaiting me after I arrived back home after the holiday break: --Schommy in Oregon for some needs in the SA & BA ASM department (and many thanks to Andrew in Ohio for promptly sending a few of mine he got by mistake)... --TheBeyonder in Canada for some BA books and many thanks for the freebies of Invaders #2 & Hulk #345!... --flatrock02 in Illinois for a couple of nice BA ASMs... --Jeff in California for my Batman #227 via the raffle... --SocraticWonder, also in the Golden State, for my first GA hero book: Wonder Woman #76!
  15. I just began buying off the boards about a month ago, and would like to extend a belated kudos and thanks to those who I've received comics from thus far (all good to excellent prices and more than adequate packing): 1) Quality Comix (Brent) 2) Monstro (Ken) 3) Erato (Brian) 4) blue808 (Bill) 5) dzminn (Dave) Happy holidays, and I look forward to buying from others into next year and hopefully beyond...
