  1. I also don't have a #6--nor will I pick one up this week. Maybe next week .
  2. Sorry man. Getting a PLOD is the worst feeling. Getting 2 out of 3...blows. Did you buy them both from the same person? What was the grade on the 56? Was it at least a 9.2? Thanks for the empathy. I've had them in my personal collection of ASMs since the 1980s. I have no clue where I bought both of them, but either via mail order, at an LCS or a con (now that narrows it down, eh?). The #56 was a 9.2 (slight amateur color touch). Now the rest of what I thought were my HG late Silver Age Spideys I'm going to submit to Matt Nelson; I hear for $3 a pop he'll do a restoration check on them and considering my batting average with today's package, that sounds very kosher! LCS or con , huh ? ...........Check and see what the "con" was in prison for . You find your answer there , young turdhopper ......... Kosher .......?....Quit tryin to use fancy words , we no your not that smart .............. Kosher, you know, like the pickles, dill dip!
  3. Kudos to CarolinaComics for a sweet copy of Hero for Hire and Power Man. Kudos to bhhooks22 for a stellar ASM key--#25--although he labeled the package "Please Do Not Bend" and crossed out the "Not". The interior package contained so many smart alecky scribblings that, if I enumerated them, I would be here all night. Seriously, though, prompt transaction, book arrived safely, and nice deal.

  6. Many words. Screw the cultural ADD--subscribe to The New Yorker and Atlantic Monthly and suffer.
  7. Indulge me if you don't mind...my first submission to CGC was back in 2005 when I submitted my ASM #1. Because of a financial crunch back in '99, I "sold" it to my dad with the understanding that he would keep it (and 39 other ASMs below #100) until I bought them back--and he would freeze them at '99 Guide values. So although he's still in possession of it (), he let me send it off. It came back a blue label, 1.0 (OWW). The cover is detached and a 3/4" lrc triangular piece is missing. It actually presents quite nice for a 1.0 and I grumbled for a bit, knowing it was an easy 1.5, maybe even 2.0. No pics, though, since pops has it back now. :frown: So, my 2nd ever submission was a couple of months back: I sent in three ASMs that I had graded at 9.2: #54, 56, and 70. I was hoping () for a 9.4, maybe a 9.6 on at least one of them. I just got them back today. A bad sign was when I signed for them at the door, I turned around to go back in our apartment and tripped over the concrete slab of a porch we have (); thankfully, the box cushioned my blow. Somehow my sock was soiled with dirt on top of my toes and I skinned my knee up pretty good. The mailman did a good job of acting concerned, but I'm thinking he was trying his best not to crack up. So I go back into the cool of the air-conditioning and tear into the package. The only highlight ( not so for PQ folks though): ASM CGC 9.2 (CRM/OW)--blue label. ASM #54 9.0 (OW)--PLOD: slight professional, "very small amount of color touch on cover." ASM #56 9.2 (OW)--PLOD: slight amateur, "small amount of color touch on cover." :frown: No pics because I don't have a scanner, and even if I did, sharing this would add to my blues I'm afraid. However, if anyone is interested in either of the PLODs for a great price (), PM me with your e-mail and I'll have the wife shoot some pics for me, and I'll send 'em on. The Meatloaf song title "2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad" does not apply for my PLOD majority this afternoon.
  8. Only 2 more to go? Are you still keeping up with the current issues? It'll reach #600 by next year. I'm still reading! I guess I could just go and buy the last two books from Metropolis, but I find there grading to be loose and I would rather buy my books here. :hail:

  10. Your copy is so high grade, I can't be bothered by its artistic merits or lack thereof.
  11. Impeccable timing I'm counting on all you clowns to come stumbling into your hotel rooms at 2AM, log on, and in a fit of complete drunken confusion, buy everything in my thread. Don't forget the drunken clowns who don't even need a Chicago.
  12. Two possible explanations; It's a mistake, and should be in a GLOD; or a Blue label was requested by the submitter, and the grade was knocked down accordingly for the flaw. I didn't realize the submitter had an option; I thought if a book is signed--not under the umbrella of the Signature Series--that it automatically received the green label. It's one of those "off the menu" thingies. At least, it was at one point. I don't know if it's still kosher or not, but I have heard of people requesting a Blue label when there was a defect - such as a popped staple - on an otherwise HG book that would normally go into a Green Label slab

  14. Super white cover! Very nice. High grade Spideys. Yup, can't wait to get it in hand. Shouldn't this technically be a bondage cover? Good point.

  17. :hail: Man, what a sweet run of Batmans! How come the #245 got a green label but the signed #251 didn't?
  18. Kudos to tatterdemalion for my first lot of war books--some great deals. Time to get reading.
  19. ... ...Like your gonna buy anything , Sean ........Bh Sell something good and I will. no Dust off that #129 and let's get the show on the road. Jeepers. :smirk:
  20. Thanks for PM and interest . If you would just be so kind to prepare and send a financial statement for our evaluation , we will be in touch !.... ..............Bh And by "our" you mean? Hi-falutin' Texas snobbery--good night. You just tell your estate people to talk to my people. Wait a minute, I don't have any people. Just slap that sales thread up, pronto. This Georgia boy might come up with some greenbacks that aren't counterfeit or stained with moonshine. You never know.
  21. Uh ,.... do you mind , ,....like ,ahem ....could you , ....er , ...define , ..um ...."cool" ?? ........................BH.. Not to butt in (and beat a dead horse), but, like, sometimes you need to know what something is not; Mindworm would not be cool.
