I agree. Does this pattern of behavior go back more than 30 days? The fact that it is Darrell, Mike and Barton is the most damning evidence. All three super solid marketplace denizens. What a sad deal this is. +1 I refuse to deal with the guy. Is there anyway for everyone to file a complaint with Paypal against him to get the refunds back? Obviously, he is a conman and Paypal needs to get the refunds back. It's clear to me that this is Hall of Shame level activity. Filing multiple Paypal claims for the most spurious of reasons, and then escalating said claims after being told to return the items for a refund? The buyer is clearly and methodically trying to commit fraud. He *probably* won't get any satisfaction from Paypal, but in any and every event, they will require the items be returned, at the buyer's expense, first. Have witnesses, sellers. Whether it's a camera, or people who can swear to it, make sure you don't open the package alone. So ... does Gecko157 go on the HoS? I voted "Yep". That IS the same as Yes, isn't it? Yep.

I can't argue against the insanity, but here's some other hammer prices on ASMs in 9.9 from this year: #239 3,501 (ComicLink) #275 1,351 (ComicLink) #298 1,532 (ComicLink) #300 6,101 (ComicLink) #312 825 (eBay) #319 1,226 (eBay) #323 1,136 (eBay) Well here is where the debate starts... I paid $60 for a copy of Amazing Spider-man 303 in a 9.8 earlier this year. Is a 9.9 of that copy really worth about $800-1000 more? How about an ASM #252 at CGC 9.8 for about $250. There are quite a few on eBay right now at this price. Is a 9.9 really worth $5,400 more? Apparently it was worth it to the buyer. But why not buy an AF #15 instead? Ah well, shan't hate on those uber-HG Spidey collectors. To each his/her own. I agree with you on that point However, I am still trying to figure out the exponential curve on a 9.8 to a 9.9 in relation to a 9.0 to a 9.2 or a 9.6 to a 9.8. Don't try to figure it out. At least not in relation to logic. :: I just observe this stuff from afar. Too rich for my blood.

Dipping in and out of "Satan is Real: The Ballad of the Louvin Brothers" (by Charlie Louvin with Benjamin Whitmer, 2012), a book about these guys who I've heard about but didn't realize their impact in country music and beyond. I'm not a big fan of country music (don't have any disdain toward it either really) but this book is utterly fascinating. Page-turner is a cliche, but it's been my experience thus far. Ira Louvin died back in the '60s but his brother Charlie just recently died, not long after this book was just recently published in fact. Foreword by Kris Kristofferson and here's a few blurbs for some flavor: "The Burritos' favorite artists"--Gram Parsons; "Charlie...was a true punk, in the best sense of the word."--Lucinda Williams; "There was something scary and washed in the blood about the sound of the Louvin Brothers."--Emmylou Harris. I guess the back cover blurb sold me on it as I was perusing a bookshelf in a Books-A-Million in Anderson, SC: "The beautiful and tragic saga of the Louvin Brothers--one of the most legendary country duos of all time--is one of America's great untold stories. Charlie Louvin was a good, god-fearing, churchgoing singer, but his brother Ira had the devil in him, and was known for smashing his mandolin to splinters onstage, cussing out Elvis Presley, and trying to strangle his third wife with a telephone cord. 'Satan is Real' is the incredible tale of Charlie Louvin's sixty-five year career, the timeless murder ballads of the Louvin Brothers, and an epic tale of two brothers bound together by love, hate, alcohol, blood, and music." I know the #23 is sweet and worth (I'm assuming) much more coin, but I absolutely love #75 even in low grade. But the jet black cover and sharp edges and corners on your copy are unbelievable. Not to mention the VERY rare perfect centering. :hail: Don, if you ever sell that #75, give me first dibs.

Sounds interesting. I will check it out. Mezrich is an intriguing character, to say the least. There's a recent interview he did via BookTV on C-SPAN2 that you can find and watch for free on booktv.org. The stories he tells about that Sex on the Moon and his other books are nuts. Riveting stuff.

So close now, Frankie. Keep plugging away. I'm two away too (looking for uber low grade copies of #3 and #14 ).

I'll echo genrlzod's sentiments. Bought a Tec #395 and a MTU Ann. #1--and both were tightly graded. No worries on the shipping--fast and extremely secure. However, for the record, mikeyriffhard is a thing of the past...jools&jim is now the former riffhard's screen name. Mike, change the title to your kudos thread! And explain the jools&jim origin again. I know it had something to do with rock 'n' roll.

However, I didn't see the footnote indicating you will be keeping your ASMs.
