  1. The collection has plenty of oddballs in it. These two are really beautiful copies. I posted them in the grading section if you want to take a shot.
  2. Your's is definitely a beautiful copy. Any reason you've never gotten it graded? I haven't come up with any reasons to grade it. I can respect that.

  4. Thanks, man, it's nice to know good books are appreciated. Still can't believe I have them. You have some incredible books. Would you mind sharing where they came from? Original owner collection maybe? Fantastic stuff, hope you will post more! OO collection that I got to cherry pick. It's possible some others may come up in the future. If they do, I'll post around the board to give people a heads up. Oh, no need to post, just PM me and I will make sure they go to a good home (mine). If you only knew the number of PMs people have already requested! Just as long as you are all in line behind me. I'm sure the PMs started flying about two seconds after you hit submit on the first post with scans of them! About right. They look very nice but the page quality isn't as good as it could be. They were stored in a warehouse for decades and have gotten pretty tanned. I think this is very noticeable when you compare a JIM 66 that AdamStrange posted versus mine: AdamStrange's: Mine:

  7. Thanks, man, it's nice to know good books are appreciated. Still can't believe I have them. If the emotional strain becomes too much I'm sure we can help you with it. I think it is one of those burdens I will just have to bear. I'm too nice a guy to cause such stress in others!

  9. I think TTA 9 is 9.2-9.4 and JIM 66 is 9.0-9.2. That seemed to be the general opinion on the grading thread.
  10. Beautiful run!Mine only goes up to 14 and is missing #2. I've posted some of these in the grading section but thought I'd repost here. Just a mix of some 10 cent-ers from my collection.
  11. Here are some of my other favs. I know this one isn't SA but #102 was the first comic I ever bought so finding one in 9.8 was a big deal to me.
  12. Yeah, I used the office scanner on the the first jpeg and it really didn't do a good job. My home scanner doesn't fit the whole image but here it is. If you look at the right edge, you can see that it has a rough production cut which was my first real experience with CGC not downgrading for production flaws.
  13. This is probably the sweetest issue in my set. Avengers 11 CGC 9.6 Northland Pedigree.
  14. Beautiful books, AtlasFan! Your hard work really shows!
  15. And now that AtlasFan has set the bar so high, I had to break out some of my others: Krang, Blip and my own copy of Thorr!
  16. Nice history and rationale for collecting. I wasn't really familiar with the title until I ran across these. This is the only other one I have. Not in a good a shape and tanning on the BC is pretty harsh.
  17. Here are some pre-hero marvels from off the beaten paths. The highest graded copy is a 7.5 on this.
  18. My favorites are the brown and orange/brown covers, too. My daughter has a stomach bug and is puking up green beans. Probably won't get anymore of mine posted till tomorrow maybe.
  19. I got your King Kong right here (or at least Charlton's weak imitation). Not a marvel but, hey, can't be perfect.
  20. A few more. The second coming of the Hulk. He turned into Xemnu and still shows up in Marvel comics. I saw the reprint of this sell for $200 recently. Someone else just posted this one.
  21. I've got others, too. I posted some in the Grading forum. I can post them here again.
  22. I haven't done the original comic art yet but have a nice collection of fine art prints and went so far as to teach myself how to frame prints since framing is so expensive. You can get conservation glass which blocks UV rays and acid-free (conservation) mats as well. If you are going to have even reflected sunlight in a room, the conservation glass is vital to maintaining the pigments in any fine art. Flourescent lights are also very harsh on pigments and can lead to fading over just a few years. Most inexpensive mats degrade quickly and can lead to yellowing of artwork wherever they overlap. In really cheap stuff that comes with stock frames out of a store, this can be devastating to art. Kind of like going from white pages to cream pages in 10-15 years. Your mylar probably helps prevent this but I don't know its overall effectiveness. Any place that does custom framing will have access to conservation glass and acid-free mats. It costs more but for fine art and OA, its an investment in keeping the materials in original condition.
  23. My newest New Avengers additions: New Avengers 14 - Gotta love Bendis' choice of location: New Avengers 15 - Great color choice for the sigs:
