  1. Thanks Mike, I posted the same issue on "Ask CGC" thread....
  2. Hi, My three newest subs now have broken/invalid links as shown (these were active 2 days ago): If I try to manually go to the web address https://www.cgccomics.com/account/my-submissions/tracking/sub#'s above/ I get this error: Yet my other older subs are fine (I am signed in) Thanks for looking into this!
  3. They were willing to give me a check... but I had a backlog of books I wanted to submit, so I opted for the easier route of the credit (so I thought). That being said, the email to CS was already resolved today and they are going to credit my invoice with the credit now and I should see the charge back in the next few days. Some new rep that responded to me (Julia) was very nice and knew exactly how to get the issue resolved. I gotta give credit to their CS dept.. every time I have emailed them over the last couple years, even if I showed frustration (or mild bitterness), they always handle the issues calmly and professionally... even if they are not always accurate, they are willing to fix it when I correct them. To me, it's all part of this system. Check your stuff, log your info, keep records, and be willing to contact them. That is the cost of doing business with them right now, so I tacitly accept that extra burden every time I submit. Sucks, sure... but I'd rather send my books to FL than to TX
  4. All three! (CCS fees, CGC fees, plus FMV). But it took 8 months of back and forth and non-stop "we'll have our verification team look into it and get back to you"... heard that line about 5-6x in the same thread. They tried to give me the FMV of the books they swapped in for mine that I sent back to them (and not my original FMV I put on the form). Even that was an annoyance.. it really does take persistence and good records to ensure if things go sideways, you have the ammo to get what is promised. Now, I take photos of EVERY BOOK (many boardie's have suggested it, and it's true... do it...), even my run-of-the-mill moderns with lower FMVs. Sure it adds a few minutes of my time, but it saves hours later on if issues crop-up. On one of my other book swaps from an unrelated submission to this one I had no photo proof (one of my earlier subs just before the big pile up of 2021-22 when things switched overnight to 10+month TATs), so they said "sorry, can't do anything about it..." so I was out my $25 raw FMV plus CCS/CGC fees... so if anything, with my moderns I submit it's not even so much about "protecting" the $10-20 raw book now, but about trying to recoup the CCS/CGC costs if/when there are mistakes. .. live and learn...
  5. I'm back with 3 subs after an 8 month hiatus for them to finally yield to me they lost 3 of my books, and get my credits. I had to ask from Accounting to see a statement first that I actually had said credits before I submitted. So, on my first three orders, I figured I'd see them apply to the CCS charges.. ... Nope.. all 3, full charge... So I said to myself "OK, maybe these are strictly grading credits, but I thought they now apply to CCS too, but maybe they changed back over these 8 months...? Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and see how they handle grading fees." Sure enough, Friday and now today, two of my moderns (which, BTW, are moving MUCH faster than my High Values... which is very irritating itself) went to SFG, and I got full charged... sigh... So, the email to CS ensues... let's see how this plays out... I'm mildly nervous now after all these months ... I kept tabs on these boards, saw some signs of good things, many signs of bad things... Really hoping I do not regret making my 8 month hiatus much much longer... I have one more sub I am thinking of for my precious Sandman #75's 2nds, so I really want things to go smooth
  6. Grade is IN... (this was C&P'd, so they did a good job here) 7.5. What was the prior PGX grade? 8.5.... so those that expected a historical 1 grade drop, you nailed it.
  7. Grade is in... two surprises here... 9.2 for the first shocker... Purple label for the other.... looking back at my original photos, I now see it clear as day that this was trimmed along the back... an obvious shred is hanging off it... What was this before I sent it to CGC???? PGX 9.2. I thought I would get an 8.0 on this just based on that, so happy in one respect, bummed in another.
  8. Just submitted (still waiting for it to show up on the tracker). Acquired as a non CGC slab, cracked it, and will reveal the previous slab and grade when this comes in.... Including C&P on this one. Thanks in advance!!
  9. I agree with the comments above to leave it be (for now). Should you crack it and resub, you run a real risk of a grade down to 9.2. In this specific case, as per CovrPrice, the FMV difference is not really much between 9.2-9.6, so if you are in any of those grades, and you know you cannot top out at the 9.8, you may not be taking much of a risk....(and then by the same token, why bother with the hassle and cost if your resultant FMV is identical????) So, waiting for a yellow label is where you get the best bang for your buck. If your preference is strictly for PC/NFS (regardless of value) then you might as well also not run the risk of getting back a 9.2 as 9.4 is pretty sweet on this book!!
  10. Speaking of Cheese... this is my "I think it's very underrated" book.... ... nasty witty humor, and, with 7 reprints, each parodying on themselves and the 1990's variants/polybag craze, I think that is very funny too... what's not to love!!??
  11. Sorry for my delays in replying, and not trying to re-ignite this fire but I couldn't let some folks questions go unanswered. Correct, this is not damage (the rip) done by CGC, but by me. The 9.6 was also a shocker to me even as my first sub. I pegged it as a 9.0 max. To help clarify some of the other comments, yes, the ME resub came back looking better due to a re-ordering of the ripped paper as shown below. Left is before ME, Right is after ME to remove the debris (got a bonus small newton ring too when it came back): (It should also be noted this original sub was in October last year (2021) when they first "experimented" with the faster grading process. They sent out an email in November '21 apologizing for some folks getting books super fast, since it was random, and I was one of the random selections that had my sub done in 3-days when others (including some of my own) were still sitting for the eventual months and months. The ME was in Nov'21. Maybe this is an example to learn from, who knows? As also earlier stated, this is PC:NFS so I'm not bothering having it adjusted down. For each "surprise" in the positive direction I've received, I've had about 50x as many surprises in the negative. Still working with customer service for my 3-book swap. I guess the "verification team" is backed up But, for all the issues in the production side of things, the Customer Service team members are really awesome. Crystal, Kailee, Dean... all of them have been terrific and they really do try hard. They are in a tough job!!! One final point, I am not renewing my Elite membership unfortunaly with too many risks I've dealt with. I had a burst of energy to submit 496 comics this past year, but I'm taking a much needed breather from this since about 25-30% of them were just not to my expectations overall. I'll drop down to Associate this year and wait and see where everything else ends up.... the competition too... ... I bet I'm not alone ...
  12. I just could not in good conscience keep a P** slab in my collection.. so even though I'm going to come out on the short end of this $$-wise, for my collection integrity, I needed to de-slab, and I will send this in to CGC. Here are the photos... When I get it back from CGC, I'll post the grade from P** and then CGC of course...
  13. BTW, if I decide to de-slab it and send it in to CGC, I'll disclose the grade that is already has and of course, what CGC gives it.
  14. Yeah, that was what I thought too when I bought it based on photos, but then seeing it in person, I am inclined to think it's down 1.5 or even 2!! Thanks for confirming that with me....
  15. I know (sorry) and thanks for your input anyway!! Good for me to get consensus... that is where I am leaning too...
  16. Acquired this slab for reasonable prices compared to CGC equivalents (I will not disclose exactly who this slab company is and I cropped out the label where I could, but I'm sure the astute crew you are will figure it out anyway). I know some of my photos suck from glare and slab artifacts (I tried several angles and such), but what I am trying to gather is if it is worth it for me to de-slab, send to CCS/CGC as a standard sub. When I bought it I had one viewpoint of the grade compared to the existing grade, but then when I got it in-hand, I was a little let down. Appreciate any thoughts. THANK YOU!! Some staple tears and heavy CB creases along the spine.. More of the same ... Top-right corner not too bad.. Lower right corner has a nice CB crease: Bottom and top edges look decent, not too wavy, but certainly I see some mild fluctuations that should press out. The back I could not get without harsh glare.. sorry ... it looks like a lot of debris/dust in the slab, but at some angles they disappear, so I think the inferior slab product is the culprit.
  17. It's not just the pressing defects... that is just more proof to me this is not my book ... if the other one was not subbed from #8->#50 and the #20 signed, maybe I would have chalked this up to very poor vision on my side... and accepted defeat on the #1.. BUT I've submitted Qty-4 Sandman #1's... and of course, anyone not knowing me can be thinking I am making all this up, so I am providing my cert numbers for proof I think I know a 9.0+ when I submit one... so to see a 7.0, with those comments, I know for a fact that is NOT my copy... when it comes back, I'll compare photos. Yes I am biased towards me, but let's see. On two of my subs, I was spot on, one of them went higher since I judge my own books pretty harshly and was pessimistic how good of a job CCS can do, but they nailed it and took my other 9.0 to a 9.4.... For the record, Customer Service hasn't responded yet. But I did email them middle-day Thursday, so I hope by Tuesday/Wednesday I'll get my first response (and not have to wait till after the holidays for the 1st response).
  18. My very first sub of 10 books... I was fortunate enough to get one of these special slabs.... They repaired it right away, and even made my page tear look better when they re-slabbed it by placing the white part behind the other portion... they did the right thing for me, but it was certainly confusing and frustrating to me as a first-time submitter. FWIW, that tear still garnered a 9.6 after the ME and second review, so I am shocked about that one. I know I can't sell it for the price of a 9.6, so it'll prob stay in my PC as a reminder (I can still recall the day when I was 12 years old, I just brought that comic home, sitting on my bed, and when I opened the page to read it, it tore!!! yikes...)
  19. Wish me luck...Contacted CGC Customer Service yesterday, awaiting response still... Most recent sub that just shipped has not 1, not 2, but THREE Book swaps in my order!! Swap #1: So, this was a clean run of Sandman #1-20, plus the Death Gallery and #69. All the way up to Grading/Quality Control, my #8 was there... and, once it went to Shipped, magically my #8 switched to a garbage #50!! (Line item #9) Swap #2: Sandman #1 was in the same range as all these books. And, to boot, my sub all went to CCS. What are the graders notes on #1: Looks like "good pressing defects" to me... Swap #3: I most certainly did not send in Sandman #20 (line item #21) with "Name Written on Cover in Marker"... all my signed Sandman books on covers went to C**S, not here... I never had a signed #20.... ...sigh.... Of course, 2 of these 3 swaps are the most valuable.. naturally... I suspect this occurred sometime after grading and before encapsulation where my books got swapped with someone else's. Let's see what CGC says... Unfortunaly, I do not have all photos of this entire sub.. I only have some (#1 and #8). It was sent in February before all the recent shenanigan's so I never thought I needed to worry... plus these are not super "high value" books, but reasonable value so I did not think this would be an issue. But, with 2 of the 3 being the most expensive, this is very suspicious... I have been taking photos of my subs all since September of this year... ... Good times ...
  20. I had the same issue on my ME sub, and then I contacted CGC. They responded that ME subs post grades on the original submission.... after I thought about it for a moment, I guess it makes sense... Email snippet below...
  21. I would have paid up for it too had I noticed... the one sale on CovrPrice for the 9.0 is me... been itching to add the 9.6 to my safe. In any event... if that buyer is on here.. DM me.. I'll make you an instant 3-4x ROI offer!!
  22. Posting a "stock image" since mine are in my safe, but not only is this the "final" issue, but since it is a second print, it's the "final-final" issue (making the first print not quite the final issue ) And recently, someone lucked out and scooped one up for a steal!! Had I been paying attention, that would have been in my safe to join my other ones.
  23. Well, CovrPrice is trying to get there... This is an email exchange I've had with them several months ago....they are prompt to respond to emails... but I'm still waiting for the "self-service" option to come. In the meantime, if you want to manage your own, for eventual import into CovrPrice, here is the csv (easily converted in excel) format from the export they sent me... hope this helps! cpID;series_name;issue_number;issue_year;variant_name;purchase_date;purchase_price;slabbed;grade;location;raw_est_value;slabbed_est_value;last_sale_date Here is an example entry from my collection...(from May) 370246;"Amazing Spider-Man";252;1984;Newsstand;;0.00;RAW;9;;176.23;0.00;2022-05-15 In excel, once there, I removed the cpid, hid some of the other qualifiers, and added basic data filters ... fun stuff! I really like them a lot, but I have some issues with their latest update pulling in sales data for the most common CGC grade, not the closest. Also, they do not provide actual sales references for their data, and many of my own purchases never showed up (but I know this thread is about raws, not slabs). Basically, even like the stock-market, when something has high volume, it's easy to get the price right. When the volume is low, it's really hard to know and CovrPrice data reflects that too. Hope this info helped you.
  24. Same here... ME delivered October 17th 2022, opened and marked received 10/27 (~8 CGC business days).... Guess we just need to be patient in some areas despite blazing speed on modern grading.
