  1. For those with ME's, my Standard Sub that went in back as ME due to skipped pressing just moved into Grading/QC today!!! 1st Sub: ME Resub: So, from initial submission in May to hopefully shipped by this week, just a mere 5 month TAT for this Standard sub (hope these are nice now and I see the grade bump)
  2. YoLink makes some great products too, and very affordable. I use them for my home security, easy to setup (complicated to configure to your preferences, but you get 100% flexibility, review their online videos!!). They have battery indication right in the app, and can send emails/texts if any alarm triggers. Pretty neat, and doesn't require WiFi (uses LoRa, which is significantly better range and lower power, i.e.: longer lasting batteries). My system has been running for about 6 months and of my 12 devices/sensors, only 1 is less than 90% battery (most common entry sensor), the rest are above it and still show full battery. Give it a look... I have not used the water monitor, but it's one of their flagship products. If I ever need to place my comics on my lower level of my house, the water sensor is a great idea and I will add it in to my system. You can have "just" a hub (required) and water alarm and later on add in other security products should you want to. It can get addicting adding on different sensors, just like comics!!
  3. Modern CCS Subs have been picking up some steam lately!!! my TATs are shrinking nicely. Looks like they caught up on nearly two months worth of work in just over 2-3 weeks. Incredible. Only a couple slab issues so far which required ME (two, both of the same book nonetheless, had severe NR's and also scuffs/scratches on them, so easy ME scenario) (my table reflects running TATs or final TATs if a shipped date is present, calendar days, not CGC business days) I'll keep posting as this gets filled in.
  4. I find it fascinating how many of us are just getting back into this after about 30 years... that's my story too!! Last book I actually bought as a kid was in 1992.... crazy what puberty, high-school, and college will do to us!!! haha Now, I'm picking up on any new cool cover that just grabs me (variant or otherwise), and the new Sandman series (even though it's not Gaiman, I'm hoping his proteges follow in his perfection). Example: I do not like batman anymore (hoping to sell all of mine actually) but how awesome is this cover??!!! Couldn't resist picking it up when I was grabbing some new Sandman books... I do somewhat agree with you otherwise.. some vendors are more ridiculous than others... this is about every week with Dynamite ... 8 seems low for their averages .. haha
  5. Just ordered mine! I like all info from all sources.... interested to see how much I can learn (...maybe I'll stop sending in junk to CGC, thus saving me money down the road... interesting business tactic if you ask me... smarter customers mean less revenue in this case )
  6. @ICUP, I guess that was enough to narrow it down.. Despite CovrPrice throwing me off, CGC lists is as 4/2020, so that's good enough for me!! Thanks so much... you helped my family tree!
  7. Wow, thanks @ICUP, this is a great resource.... Herein lies my confusion... and I'd hate to buy a CGC slab to find the issue, but CovrPrice lists these as different cover dates... https://covrprice.com/issue/the-amazing-spider-man-39-2099/#variants And the next three in the series do not have "April" actually displayed as cover dates, goes from March to May ... and when I zoom in on the images, I cannot tell....no date is listed... so I'd need to buy some raw ones I guess first and see what the inside cover says... Was hoping to avoid that.. Maybe I can check CGC's registry to see what they print on these labels.... Thanks!!!!
  8. So, I did a little test with this as well...not in any attempt to game the system or anything (values are only about $10 different for a CGC 9.8 between the two on CovrPrice) ... but because I screwed up one sub, and was hoping to fix it on another... and these are for my NFS-PC, so I am not worried about the notation differences... I submitted some that I knew were not polybagged ever (and I clearly sent them in w/o bags), but I selected that "Poly-Bagged Edition" option in the CGC pull-down by accident, and sure enough, CGC trusted my data entry and added the note "Poly-bag Removed". But I knew 100% they were not. Then, on another sub, I tried one that I knew was polybagged since I removed it myself, and did not select the "Poly-Bagged Edition" from the pull-down, and sure enough no label comment about "Poly-bag Removed". My suspicion is that it's not easily and readily apparent as some may think unless you have two to compare side-by-side, and with some colors fading or not and under different lighting conditions, it is not always easy to tell purplish vs gray. So, they must put some weight into how the customer submitted it ... and in my case, they did what I entered it as 100% of the time (it was only 4 comics total, not an exhaustive test by far ... YMMV.) As far as trying to be as honest as possible if you are selling one, just make the disclaimers on your listing that you think it might have been a polybag and not annotated by CGC. And, kudos to you for doing the right thing!!! I know I would not be bothered by that labeling difference, but I can't speak for other collectors.
  9. If this is the wrong forum area, please let me know and I'll move it... this forum is massive and hard to find stuff at times .... But, I am trying to find (not necessarily to buy right here and right now) any Spider-Man Comic with a cover date of April 2020 (ideally I will get it in a CGC 9.8, or even a 9.9) Anyone know which title might have that? I've checked all the ones I can think of and that I find on Covrprice, and I am speculating due to the pandemic, it seems the cover dates go from March 2020 right to June/Jul/Aug (must have paused printing/distribution like the rest of the world). Black Cat Strikes, Noir, Marvel Action, etc are perfect examples... Why am I looking for this? Basically I am making a "Comic Cover Family Tree" with all family member birthday months of Spider-Man comics... so I already have mine, my wife's, and of course my son was born right at the start of the pandemic in April 2020, and I cannot find his month printed on a cover...!!! I'd go so far as a non-spidey comic, but with Spidey on the cover... Thanks for any help!!
  10. fine line between "collector" and "obsessed"... haha, I'm the same.. after I had my first full run of Sandman comics, I said "Well, I should get a second run in case I want to sell one"... now after my third one... I am still searching for good deals for more despite saying "I have enough, stop it already...." ... As long as we keep having fun and enjoying it .... (and can keep our families fed and the lights/heat/AC on!!!) Be sure to re-post when you have an update...would be cool to see how you expand this.
  11. Option #1, building towards adding option #2... basically, you have the "heroes" now, it would be kinda cool in my opinion to display the "Villains" in their own cubbies.. that's how I'd organize it... As a kid, I would build "battle lines", and this can kinda be like that... my $0.02
  12. That's hysterical you used a Ren and Stimpy gif here... not sure if everyone else got it, but I did!!
  13. It is NYCC, so expect delays across the board, right? I'm not expecting any sub movements until next week and so far since yesterday none of my other 9 subs had any movement...
  14. Sorry for thread-jacking, since this is originally about CLZ, but to help provide some info on the new integration with Covrprice, I've used CovrPrice for the last year now, and I like it a lot. If you have no tracking system at all, I recommend it. The only complaint I have with their newest update last month is when a slab value is not existent, they use the most common one. So, I have many <9.0 slabs that have no sales data, but if the most common one is 9.8, they price it out as 9.8. Kinda silly to see a <$50 slab price out at >$1,000 in many instances... I complained to them about the inflation of my collection value and they are looking into an alternate method, like closest grade instead of most common. Prior to the update, if it was non-existent, they offered no value, which in a sense I liked better and can sort by value and see which ones have no sales because they have no value listed ... if no one is willing to pay for it, what is it worth?... exactly.... For the raws, it's been a great tool for me to know what bounds I should put on any purchases or sales and know what is reasonable. Even if the data is not present, the way they present it visually makes it real easy to do some practical interpolation to fill in the blanks, with specific "grayed out" data for sales that are very old so you can make your own estimates of "is this reasonable or not". In any event, YMMV. To me, Covrprice is all I need.
  15. Thanks @CMatthews, Absolutely... I'm just happy your team is all safe and secure! Just wanted to set my own expectations for anticipated completion. Thanks for confirming. And, your team has no need to apologize for the Hurricane... your response has been stellar and you put your customers and own families as dual-priorities which is more than some other industries/companies do in times of severe distress.
  16. Two more CCS Modern Subs from 12/21 cranked through the CGC finish line this week: Both Subs of 25 books Received at CCS: 12/9/21 Sub#1/#2: CCS in Process: 8/26/22 Sub #1 SFG: 9/26/22, GEI 10/3/22, QC 10/4/22, Shipped 10/5/22 Sub #2 SFG: 10/3/22, GEI 10/4/22, QC 10/5/22, Shipped 10/6/22 Incredible CGC turn times for grading and CCS seems to be accelerating my submissions... this one was a month after my previous November subs, yet got though CCS only a few days after. Results: All (mostly) positive. Of 50 books, about 45 of them bumped my expected grade from CCS, some as far as 3 levels (from 9.0->9.6, or 7.5->9.0, etc), 2 matched, 3 went down (all foil covers... lesson learned, do not submit foil/embossed covers anymore to CCS!!! They all went down over 3 levels from my expectations). They must have gotten too close to the edge of the embossing (is that a word??) Now, if these 100 books from this week are all labeled correctly and in the right cases, I'd be really happy!! haha, let's see...
  17. Hi @MattM CS, Is it possible to get an update on this order? I hate to be a pain, but these are my most expensive books I ever submitted and it's been now over 4.5 months since I had them in my hands (for more than the 1 hour turn-around to submit as ME). I understand what you wrote above about up to 8 weeks for an ME, but this was originally a "Standard" submission, and now this ME resubmit is adding many many weeks to the original expectations I had for this. Originally submitted: 5/25/22, Sub number: 4070584 (has already shipped, it's just for historical context) ME Re-Sub number: 4114008 (the one I am trying to track now) Much appreciated if you can help narrow it down for me if it is post-pressing, SFG, G/E/I or other... thanks!
  18. Received Date: 11/10/21 (1 sub of 50 split into 2 @ 25-books) CCS In Process: 08/26/22 Scheduled for Grading: 9/22/22 GEI: 9/26/22 (in less than 1 day went from GEI to Shipped): 10/4/22 (but they left today on 10/3/22) In all, CCS certainly bumped up some of my books above my grade estimates, but most of my Sandman books did not benefit at all, even got a few lower grades than I thought. And I got a dreaded restoration book PLOD from an Ebay buy last year (c-1 nonetheless, geeze) :-( CCS Total Time: 316 calendar days CGC Total Time: 11 calendar days (which includes 4 lost days to Ian) Comparison to Today's Published TATs: 2 day differential!! A whole bunch more of my CCS subs are getting queued up for grading soon, excited to see what else happens!
  19. Absolutely have them pressed!!! Might as well remove the bag and keep your card too... I won an auction for a dozen Cable Sealed polybags last winter from a large prolific & "reputable" Ebay seller, listed as "NM/M New in Bag"... EVERY SINGLE ONE of them received an 8.5 or less... they are now just paperweights in my closet that can't be sold. Here is a small sampling of those with some of my others... Not worth the expense of a re-sub to press in the hopes they become 9.4-9.6, which will still not be worth the effort to sell given there are a MILLION (quite possibly, literally) of these out there... especially after you have it slabbed .... It is just "Xforce #1", no more relation to the card it was originally bagged with ... I learned a very humbling $500 lesson with this experience. Also note, when I submitted 10+ with Cable cards, I received back a mix of all assorted XForce cards, only maybe 2 Cables came back (and of course no deadpools) ...There is no guarantee you get back polybags or COAs/Cards, etc with your subs. They do try though! They must get so many of these, they are hard to keep straight over the employees laughing all the way to the bank from us rookie mistake submitters.
  20. Modern CCS Subs Moving Along!! Received Date: 11/10/21 (1 sub of 50 split into 2 @ 25-books) CCS In Process: 08/26/22 Scheduled for Grading: 9/22/22 (and YES, promoted back on the sub tracking tool after being kicked off for a few months for >8 months old). This batch is my first of 11 CCS Modern Subs (I did a Standard and Economy FT sub, of which both went horribly wrong and results were not what I expected...) But, I'm hopeful CCS will do good work.
  21. I expect at this point now your sub falls under the typical TATs for your tier with Grading only... So, if they are modern... 20-37 business days (it just went back and forth quickly the last couple weeks) Thanks for posting this info BTW... I just had a whole bunch of Modern CCS Lots go from "Received" to "CCS In Process" over the last 3 weeks.. sub dates ranged from November '21 (5 of them off the sub tracking tool for > 8 months) to March '22.... seems they are catching up on collecting payments after that avalanche of subs before the Jan '22 price jumps... I'm expecting my April ones will move to billing and "CCS In Process" too now anyday ... If yours was from October, I am hopeful my November ones will be done soon!! Looking forward to seeing them back on the tracking tool as "Scheduled For Grading" after being off the list for so long...
  22. @manetteska, Unfortunately, I had a similar issue with a "Standard" sub, sent back as ME, and when I asked CGC, the CS Rep told me 2-8 weeks for CCS as part of the ME process (which is >> Standard CCS times), then it will move to grading "expedited" but no quote of TATs there.... https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/512700-standard-submission-skipped-pressing-me-re-submit-also-skipped-again/ So, pretty much plan on waiting more than double your original expectations... along with twice the stress of shipping anxiety...
  23. @MattM CS Thanks very much for the detailed explanation and for including TAT estimates for this type of sub. You have my fullest confidence now! I trust your team to do the best job possible. Thanks for double checking and not leaving me waiting long at all Have a great week!
